Abstract: A nonvolatile memory including a plurality of memory transistors in series, wherein source/drain and channel regions therebetween are of a first type and a select transistor, at each end of the plurality of memory transistors in series, wherein channels regions of each of the select transistors is of the first type. The first type may be n-type or p-type. The nonvolatile memory may further include a first dummy select transistor at one end of the plurality of memory transistors in series between one of the select transistors and the plurality of memory transistors in series and a second dummy select transistor at the other end of the plurality of memory transistors in series between the other select transistor and the plurality of memory transistors in series.
Abstract: A vibration damping member, for dampening vibration triggered by movement of a carriage, is driven to move by a vibration-damping drive motor that is a different drive source from a drive source of the carriage. The vibration-damping drive motor includes a stepping motor which may be controlled by an input of a pulse. A carriage-position detecting unit for detecting the position of the carriage in a moving direction updates the position count each time the carriage is moved by a predetermined amount. Each time the position count of the carriage-position detecting unit is updated by a predetermined amount, a first pulse generating unit generates a pulse that causes the vibration-damping drive motor to move by one step. The vibration-damping drive motor is driven with the pulse, thereby causing the vibration damping member to move.
Abstract: A proportional pressure controller includes a body having inlet, outlet, and exhaust ports. A fill valve communicates with pressurized fluid in the inlet port. A dump valve communicates with pressurized fluid from the fill valve. An inlet poppet valve opens by pressurized fluid through the fill valve. An outlet flow passage communicates with pressurized fluid when the inlet poppet valve is open, and communicates with the outlet port and an exhaust/outlet common passage. A fill inlet communicates between the inlet passage and fill valve, and is isolated from the outlet flow passage, exhaust/outlet common passage, and outlet and exhaust ports in all operating conditions of the controller.

Abstract: A dynamically reconfigurable battery framework for management of a large-scale battery system systems is provided. The framework monitors, reconfigures, and controls large-scale battery systems online. The framework is built upon a topology-based bypassing mechanism that provides a set of rules for changing the battery-pack configuration, and a semantic bypassing mechanism by which the battery-cell connectivity is reconfigured to recover from a battery-cell failure. More specifically, the semantic bypassing mechanism implements a constant-voltage-keeping policy and a dynamic-voltage-allowing policy. The former policy is effective in preventing unavoidable voltage drops during the battery lifetime, while the latter policy is effective in supplying different amounts of power to meet a wide-range of application requirements.

Abstract: An optical scanner includes at least one light source, an optical element, a deflective scanner, an optical housing, a pressing member, and a mounting member. The light source emits a light beam to an object. The optical element forms the light beam emitted from the light source into a desired shape. The deflective scanner deflects the light beam. The optical housing stores the optical element and the deflective scanner, and includes at least one positioning member. The positioning member positions the light source in an axial direction of the light source. The pressing member presses the light source toward the positioning member to sandwich the light source between the pressing member and the positioning member and mount the light source on the optical housing. The mounting member fastens the pressing member to the optical housing.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus of decoding a video signal are provided. The present invention includes the steps of parsing first coding information indicating whether a residual data of an image block in the enhanced layer is predicted from a corresponding block in the base layer, from the bitstream of the enhanced layer, and decoding the video signal based on the first coding information. And, the step of parsing includes the step of performing modeling the first coding information based on second coding information indicating whether prediction information of the corresponding block in the base layer is used to decode the image block in the enhanced layer. Accordingly, the present invention raises efficiency of video signal processing by enabling a decoder to derive information on a prediction mode of a current block in a decoder instead of transferring the information to the decoder.
