Abstract: A tool for driving headed fasteners has an opening in the tool. The opening is defined by a wall of the tool. The wall has a plurality of flat planar surfaces. The planar surfaces are connected by a connection at the ends of each planar surface to define the opening. Each connection surface has a convex surface continuous with the planar surface. A concave surface is continuous with the convex surface. The convex and concave surfaces define arcs with the arcs having the same radius.
Abstract: A bone fixation screw system and method of utilization thereof is provided for a bone having first and second sections with a fracture interface there between. A preferred embodiment of the bone fixation screw system includes a side plate having a first part for placement adjacent the bone second section and a second part angled from the first part providing a barrel. The barrel is adapted for insertion into a transsectionally extending bore into the bone in at least the second section of the bone. A lag screw is also provided for positional retention of the first section of the bone with respect to the second section of the bone. The lag screw also has a first part of a resorbable material for threaded connection of the lag screw within the bore of the bone in at least the first section of the bone, the lag screw having a second part connected with the first part made from a stronger nonresorbable material.
Abstract: As apparatus for supporting an electrical hair dryer or other electrical implement having an elongated portion. The apparatus includes a base from which projects a flexible tube. At the other end of the flexible tube a hair dryer holder is arranged to receive a hair dryer. When the hair dryer is inserted into the holder, the flexible tube may be positioned into any of a number of various orientations. This provides the user with enhanced operability of the stand, because the user may arrange the flexible tube in a variety of positions.
Abstract: A container sealing system is disclosed herein for use in conjunction with a refillable container having a resealable closure member associated therewith. The sealing system includes a first fluid tight sealing member disposed between and engageable with the closure member and the container and a second sealing member integrally formed on the closure member and engageable with a portion of the container so as to prevent nongaseous contents of the container from leaking into the area of threaded engagement between the closure member and container. A vent passage is also provided in the closure member which is operative to provide safe controlled relief of pressure within the container in response to partial removal and prior to full removal of the closure member.
Abstract: A formable matrix used as structural material and having an admixture of reinforcing non-metallic meltable fibers. The fibers have enlarged knob-like ends serving as anchors to enhance the bonding action between the fiber and the matrix. The admixture reduces freeze-thaw losses and improves flexural strength of the matrix. Several methods of forming the fiber end knobs are disclosed.
