Abstract: A communication system can include a network having a first network access point and a second network access point and being capable of carrying data between the first network access point and the second access point via, for example, a packet-switched bearer and a circuit-switched bearer. The communications system can also include a first terminal configured to connect to the first network access point and a second terminal configured to connect to the second network access point. Each terminal can be capable of simultaneously supporting a packet-switched connection and a circuit-switched connection with the other terminal via the network as a single logical communication arrangement.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cable connector including a housing with a base substantially extending between a front side and a rear side of said connector and a first housing part mountable to said base such that said first housing part and a first portion of said base determine a cable passage configured to accommodate a ferrule arrangement of a cable. The cable passage includes at least one recessed portion configured to receive a corresponding protrusion of said ferrule arrangement or vice versa Accordingly a high density cable connector is obtained with improved cable relief performance.
Abstract: The present invention is a method of doing business over a network that: receives a request for transmitting digital information after a start time and before an end time, determines the time required to transmit the digital information based on the number of packets in the information and the network speed, schedules a transmit time for the digital information, and accepts the digital information for transmission only if the time required to transmit is less than or equal to the difference between the transmit time and the end time. Pricing of the transmission can be determined by the priority of transmission, whether the information is transmitted the first time or rescheduled, and whether the user receives an acknowledgment.

Abstract: The present invention concerns methods and apparatus for enabling manual control over selection of a value for at least one operating parameter of a computer system resource. Manual control is enabled by de-coupling a pointer of a graphical indicator and control from an automated system advisor. During automated operation, the automated system advisor selects the value for the parameter of the computer system resource as indicated on a scale of the graphical indicator and control by the pointer. When the pointer of the graphical indicator is under manual control, a user can select the value of the at least one operating parameter of the computer system resource using the pointer of the graphical indicator and control. The present invention also concerns methods and apparatus for disabling manual control over selection of a value for at least one operating parameter of a computer system resource by re-coupling the pointer to an automated system advisor.
