Abstract: A multiple chamber drip irrigation hose for distributing irrigation water and the like comprising, in combination, a primary and at least one secondary tube of flexible, water-impermeable material and joined at a common wall. Said common wall has a series of first holes placing the interior of said primary tube in communication with the interior of said secondary tube. Said secondary tube has a series of second holes leading from the interior of said secondary tube to the exterior. A flexible, filamentary line, ridge or groove is positioned within said secondary tube and forms a restricted path for water flowing from a first hole to a second hole. Optionally, at least one tertiary tube of flexible, water-impermeable material is joined to said secondary tube at a second common wall, with said second holes through said second common wall.
Abstract: A composite lamination film for electrophoretically toned images deposited on a plastic receptor sheet, comprising, in combination, an optically transparent, flexible support layer, an optically transparent, flexible intermediate layer of a heat softenable film applied to one side of said support layer, and an optically transparent, flexible adhesive layer of a heat softenable film applied to the free side of said intermediate layer, said adhesive layer having good adhesion to said intermediate layer, said receptor sheet and said toned images deposited on said receptor sheet, the laminate thereof and the process for producing the laminate.

Abstract: A dart having an elongate body with a point sliding in one end of the body and a tail carried at the other end of the body. The point is normally in an extended position. On impact with a target, or an obstruction adjacent a target, the momentum of the body causes the point to slide in the body to a position where the body impacts the head of the point and hammers the point into the target, past an obstruction, thereby reducing the likelihood of bounce of the dart.
Abstract: A differential amplifier able to produce differential-mode output signals different from one another in DC voltage level, is formed by connecting a pair of NPN transistors and another pair of PNP transistors so that the emitter electrodes of these four transistors are coupled to one another by a resistive coupling circuit. The resistive coupling circuit is so arranged that the resistance between the emitter electrodes of the NPN transistors is equal to that between the emitter electrodes of the PNP transistors, with the resistances between the emitter electrodes of one of the NPN transistors and of one of the PNP transistors being equal to that between the emitter electrodes of the other NPN transistor and the other PNP transistor.
Abstract: A recursive filter characterized by increased efficiency and accuracy and incorporating a step decision circuit which reduces filter noise, error and size. Efficiency is obtained by reducing the requirement for bulk memory and the number of multipliers while accuracy is obtained by reducing error portions of data and coefficient words in the filter.
Abstract: An improved step-climbing wheel chair with integral retractable ramps for ascending or descending a step, curb or the like. The conveyance is provided with a two-speed transmission capable of driving the wheel chair on level terrain at conventional speeds or selecting a low speed high torque capability for driving the conveyance up an inclined ramp.The invention further contains a self-leveling chair seat which automatically maintains the occupant in a level seated position regardless of the inclined position assumed by the wheel chair frame, thereby contributing to the stability of the wheel chair and the safety of the occupant.
Abstract: A wedge-type gate valve with a one-piece gate or wedge movable longitudinally of itself in the valve chamber and transversely of the flow passage between open and closed positions. The gate is a one-piece structure having longitudinal V-shaped guide grooves in opposite edges thereof into which extend aligned, conical guide pins carried by the valve body. The edges of the wedge are also provided with inclined cam grooves engageable by the guide pins to cam the wedge against one of its seats in the open position of the wedge. The wedge is provided with a lubricant annulus communicating with one or both valve seats in the closed position of the wedge, the lubricant annulus being provided with a suitable lubricant through a threaded actuating stem. The inner end of the actuating stem has a doubly-tapered radially-outwardly-convergent head disposed in a complementary socket in the wedge, with seals between the wedge and such head, on both sides of the head.
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a protection circuit for a power amplifier. The protection circuit comprises a current detecting section for detecting a level of a load current of the power amplifier, a voltage detecting section for detecting a level of a load voltage across a load, an AND-gate circuit responsive to outputs of the current detecting section and the voltage detecting section for detecting a short-circuit of the load, and a control section responsive to an output of the AND-gate circuit for disconnecting the load from the amplifier.
Abstract: A one-piece dart comprising a shaft having an integral suction cup at its forward end and an integral, air actuable, propelling element at its rearward end, the dart being molded from a soft, flexible plastic material. A spring activated air operated dart gun including a dart barrel having a non-circular cross section uniform throughout the length of the barrel, the propelling element on the dart being complementary to the dart barrel so that the propelling element makes a substantially air tight seal with the dart barrel. A dart barrel and a dart propelling element which are substantially square. An air operated dart gun having a barrier for positively preventing physical contact between an air displacing piston and the dart, and for making physical contact between the piston and a foreign object in the dart barrel virtually impossible. A piston provided with a central conical element facing the dart barrel.
Abstract: A gas scrubbing method and apparatus involving uniformly saturating the gas to be scrubbed with water, i.e., wetting the gas to be scrubbed with water vapor to a relative humidity of substantially 100%, and then centrifugally compressing the wetted gas by many atmospheres, i.e., to a density many times atmospheric, to condense and extract from the wetted gas at least part of the water vapor therein, and particulate and gaseous contaminants contacted by the water vapor.

The barrel assembly includes a counterbalancing system for the tubes.
Abstract: A system for remote measurement of wind velocity and direction. An acoustic echo transmitter for directing a beam of acoustic energy toward a zone, and a plurality of receivers for receiving acoustic energy scattered by wind in the zone, with each receiver output having a doppler frequency component. A system which permits positioning the receivers at various elevations and various distances and angles from the transmitter, and a system particularly sensitive to measurement of vertical wind velocity.

Abstract: A tape cartridge holder comprising a container provided with transverse cartridge compartments respectively having resilient retainers therein along one side of the container and respectively engageable with the edges of cartridges in the compartments. The retainers comprise integral parts of a retainer assembly including a common retainer base from which the retainers project and with which the retainers are integrally formed. The container has a bottom wall provided adjacent one side thereof with a slot within which the retainer base is positioned with the retainers projecting into the compartments along one side of the container. The retainer base in the slot is secured to the container to support the retainers within the compartments.

Abstract: A system for controlling the pilot and main burner gas valves of a gas furnace or the like, including a pilot spark ignitor and a pilot flame sensor. A main burner valve control circuit for energizing the spark ignitor until a pilot flame is sensed and then energizing the main burner valve solenoid to provide gas to the main burner. A pilot solenoid valve control circuit for controlling application of power to the ignitor circuit and the pilot and main solenoids. A safety turn on control circuit which permits operation of the pilot valve and ignitor circuit for only a limited period of time to provide a fail safe operation of the ignition system.
Abstract: Coupling an outer antenna with a radio receiver having a bar antenna is achieved by connecting the outer antenna to a coupling coil which is able to be removably mounted on a bar core of the bar antenna and by mounting the coupling coil on the bar core with such an orientation of the coupling coil that the signal received at the outer antenna does not cancel the signal received at the bar antenna. The connection between the outer antenna and the coupling coil may be made by the use of a coaxial cable with the outer conductor of the cable being not grounded to function as a ground plane. A series circuit of a switch and a resistor may be connected in parallel with the coupling coil to selectively reduce the quality factor Q of the bar antenna.
Abstract: The disclosure describes method and apparatus for optically computing the impulse response h, transfer function H, coherence function .gamma., impulse coherence .GAMMA., product S.sub.y H.sub.r, division 1/S.sub.x, cross-correlation R.sub.yx, cross-power spectrum G.sub.yx, complex conjugate S.sub.x.sup.*, and convolution y*x of signals y and x in real time. The method comprises the steps of computing the mathematical function of a given parameter. The apparatus of the invention comprises the realization of optical elements for performing the tasks of the method.
