Abstract: A graphic programming system for associating distinctive arrow appearances to specific transaction(s) that the arrow may convey among and between on-screen objects. The distinctive appearance features include arrow color, arrow style, and double-headed arrows, among many other possibilities. The system provides default relationships between specific arrow transactions and arrow appearance, so that, for example, a arrow of a particular color is recognized by the system (and easily identified by the user) to carry out a particular transaction. These relationships may be selectively varied by the user to suit individual needs.
Abstract: A combination liquid container and pet drinking bowl in which the bowl is formed of a plastic sheet secured to the container. The sheet may be flexed into two distinct positions. In a first stored position, the sheet is form-retaining and lies against a portion of the container. In a second operative position, the sheet provides a form-retaining bowl extending longitudinally from the container and may be filled with liquid from said container.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for frequency modulating a PWM involves 1) generating a high frequency carrier signal much greater in frequency than the PWM signal; 2) modulating the high frequency signal to generate a spread spectrum carrier signal; and, 3) retiming a PWM signal with this high frequency SS carrier signal so that the binary transitions of the PWM signal are aligned with the frequency varying carrier signal. In another embodiment, a PWM oscillator is driven by a second, FM oscillator having spread spectrum characteristics. In another embodiment a PWM oscillator is driven and modulated by a counter/frequency divider comprised of modules.
Abstract: A controllable delay clock buffer that provides spread spectrum modulation of the output signals with zero cycle slip includes a PLL having a PLL loop filter that comprises an RC network. A clock signal is input to the PLL, and a SS modulation frequency is injected into the capacitor of the PLL loop filter. The SS signal is provided by a secondary charge pump that produces a programmable waveform such as a square wave or a stair case square wave current signal. The programmable waveform is integrated by the loop filter capacitor to form a corresponding triangular or trigonal waveform which varies the input to the VCO of the PLL to define a frequency modulation profile that has a corresponding triangular or trigonal envelope. The bandpass profile of the SS modulation signal is at a higher frequency range than the lowpass profile of the PLL, so that the SS waveform profile is not distorted or cancelled by the PLL.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for picking up dog waste has a container and plurality of claw elements moveable from a first position entirely within the container and a second position outside the container and spaced apart. In retrieving dog waste, the claws may be retracted radially to underlie such waste, and then be axially raised into the container.
Abstract: A method for transmitting media, data, and text files in a manner that minimizes the use of bandwidth and memory comprises a BSP file containing a picture of the contents, as well as links to the content of the various components. When the recipient opens the message, the total visual content and all functional objects are depicted in the message display. The recipient may interact with the displayed content and functional objects; as these interactions create a demand for more data on the message content, the BSP file is queried for links to that content, and it is transmitted from the sender, as required by the recipient.
Abstract: The invention generally comprises methods for spacing a plurality of onscreen objects on the display of a computer or similar electronic device. One aspect is the Ripple operation, in which onscreen objects may be repositioned recursively in Blackspace or within a VDACC to accommodate changes in the size or position of an object, or the introduction of an object into a group of objects. Another aspect is the Text Space operation which enables a user to drag and reposition text without regard to rigid rules regarding margins, line spacing, paragraph format, and the like. A further aspect Touch Transparency, a software routine that determines which overlying object is designated to receive a mouse click and respond thereto.

Abstract: A power supply monitoring circuit that monitors and delivers the highest voltage power supply to an IC system includes a voltage comparator that receives two different power supply voltages, and outputs a first signal to the gate of a first switching transistor connected between a first power supply and an system power supply output node. The comparator output is also input to an inverter, the output of which comprises a second signal connected to the gate of a second switching transistor connected between a second power supply and the system power supply output node. When the first supply voltage exceeds the second supply voltage, the first transistor is switched on to connect the first supply to the system output node, and the second transistor is switched off; and vice versa. The comparator includes designed-in hysteresis to prevent simultaneous switching of the two transistors.

Abstract: A portable bed for a newborn infant made up of a rectangular flat support surface which holds a firm infant mattress pad, the surface having a rigid headboard perpendicularly attached at one end, and rigid perpendicular partial side walls attached to both the support surface and to the headboard. A hinge is provided about midway along the longitudinal length of the support surface allowing the unit to be closed against itself to facilitate easy transport. A soft fabric cover is provided to cover the surface, headboard and side walls. A firm waterproof mattress pad having the same dimensions as the support surface is also provided. A pair of handles may also be provided at either end of the support surface for carrying the unit when folded together.
