Abstract: A closed loop servo feed system for an EDM ram. A gap voltage signal is processed to control the servo feed operation with respect to ram velocity and also ram direction. A first network is provided with a voltage to frequency section for controlling ram velocity. A second network includes a raise/lower ram section with a comparator to determine the direction of ram movement.

Abstract: An EDM circuit that detects power transistor switch failure. A comparator 62 and a sample and hold stage 60 are used during a window of time formed by the off-time of a pulse generator to determine whether power switch MOSFET 30 is conducting. If MOSFET 30 is conducting during the off-time of the pulse generator LED 72 will emit light to indicate a failed power transistor switch.

Abstract: Digital computation is performed on an integrated optical circuit level using optical threshold logic elements. Each input and output optical beam of each element occupies a separate channel and interacts with only one switching component thus assuring true digital computation. These circuits provide access to the entire class of logic functions routinely utilized in electronic digital computers. The integrated optical devices are programmable and are capable of high speed logic operations and reliable digital operation in a complex network.

Abstract: An electrical discharge machining electrode for small hole machining. The electrode is of a rod shape and includes a spiral shaped groove extending along the electrode body with a length greater than the thickness of the workpiece. The groove terminates proximate the electrode machining face for receiving a stream of liquid coolant and promoting its flow through the gap during machining. The electrode machining face is blunt and relatively planar in shape.

Abstract: The top and canopy are removably mounted on a vehicle and include a pair of loop tubes that are fastened to the body of the vehicle and to the windshield of the vehicle. The rear flap of the canopy includes a plurality of air vents to provide aerodynamic stability of the vehicle at high speeds.

Abstract: A humidifier system for use in hospitals or other health institutions. The humidifier is a two-compartment system connected by horizontal pipes with a closed-loop arrangement that keeps the distilled water used in the system out of contact with the environment and further isolates the vapor being generated by heating coil from the outside environment. An electrically controlled system provides for automatic feed of water to the second compartment where vaporizing is provided.

Abstract: An alignment device for railroad car couplers including a central flexible portion with a pair of swivelable end portions connectable between couplers of adjacent cars. Each of the end portions includes a protruding stud adapted to engage an opening preformed in the knuckle body. The device end portions and their studs are inserted between misaligned adjacent couplers. One steady pull of the engine aligns the couplers so that two cars may then be quickly joined together without requiring the trainman to stand between the cars during the coupling operation.

Abstract: A pivotal mounting plate for a foldable T. V. antenna. The mounting is designed to be mounted on one side, generally the left hand side of the hard shell top of the camper. It is designed to stand vertically erect with the antenna mounted on it unfolded to render it operative. The mounting plate is pivotal to a horizontal position and latched over a stud or bolt in a carrying and inoperative condition. At this time, the antenna is telescoped and retained in a folded position.

Abstract: A jamb plate used to anchor the door locking bolt member in a door lock set. The plate is securely mounted intermediate a stud and the door jamb portion itself with a reinforced striker edge provided. The fastening system for the plate operator operates to distribute applied breaking or opening stresses over a large area of the plate.

Abstract: A golf club including a shaft and adapter fitted to the lower end of the shaft and having a flat end portion. The putter head includes a central slotted arcuate portion adapted to receive the flat end portion of the adapter slidable therein to provide for angular adjustment of the shaft relative to the head. A lock screw is laterally mounted in the head and engagable with the flat end portion securely hold the club in the selected angular position. The striking face of the putter head comprises a flat central portion with a pair of slanted end portions terminating in an alignment slot on the top of the head for alignment of the ball and centering hit with the striking face.

Abstract: An educational toy that shows how watermelons and similar farm products are grown, harvested, and removed from the field in field trucks and taken to a packing shed where they are placed on conveyors and transferred to over the road trucks. These trucks take the melons to commission houses where they are put into wooden or cardboard bins. The bins are transferred to city trucks that finally deliver the melons to chain stores and fruit markets for sale. The various types of trucks and equipment are introduced at the appropriate time and all are manipulable by children in a teaching toy mode.

Abstract: A ladder fastening device for pole climbing. The device includes a central strap portion operable to be wrapped around a pole and having free end portions. A pair of end straps are included each connected to a different end of the central strap portion and operable to be wrapped about the legs of a ladder previously leaned against the pole. Each of the end straps has a pair of rigid buckles connected to an end for engaging the free end of the central strap portion. There is included at the other end of each end strap a latching means for looping each end strap around one of the legs.

Abstract: A holder for beverage containers that is adapted to be mounted between two front bucket seats. The holder includes a pair of spaced wells and an intermediate bracket having a channel formed through it for mounting engagement with the handle of a parking brake located between the two front bucket seats.

Abstract: A holder for templates, triangles and the like that is slidably mounted on a drawing board eraser trough to permit its ready movement along the length of the drawing board. The holder includes several compartments with differing height dividers therebetween and further has a bottom slanted forwardly to permit layback of the templates or other equipment in a readily accessible position.

Abstract: A combined power and sensing cable for inter-connecting an EDM power supply and machine tool including a pair of power conducting leads (14,16), each having a non-conducting sleeve (18a, 20a) and a plurality of individual conductors (20) inside each such sleeve. A braided shield sleeve (22) encloses both the power leads. An external insulating jacket (12) encloses the braided shield sleeve (22). A plurality of sensing and control leads (28) are enclosed by a second braided shield (26) which in turn is enclosed by its insulating sleeve (24). The sensing and control leads (28) are aligned substantially parallel to the power conductor leads (14,16) intermediate their respective braided shield (22) and the external insulating jacket (12).

Abstract: A game including a plurality of cards each having a different arrangement of colored elements. A plurality of large colored target elements are set out on a flat playing surface such as the floor to duplicate the arrangement of elements on the card that is turned up. The contestant throws a die and thus selects one of the elements as a target. A bean bag is then thrown in one or two tries to hit the individual selected target element. Turns are rotated between contestants until all of the colors are retired. A marker of like color is placed on each one as it is hit.

Abstract: A chimney cap pivotally mounted at one end to allow secure closure of the cap or opening for operation. The lower end of the chimney is connected to a fireplace which has its own manually operated damper. The chimney cap is operable conjointly with the damper or separately by its own operating apparatus.
