  • Patent number: 8327585
Abstract: A new method of making and manufacturing foam weather stripping, using a foam filled profile that is encapsulated with an outer liner and a removable film. The film is precisely introduced to the liner using adjustable guides. Just before the film is introduced to the liner the release liner is striped from the film and carried away using a scrap takeaway system for recycling. The liner and film are then introduced into proprietary tooling where the foam, liner, insert, and film is folded upon itself. After the actual construction of the said profile, it is then inserted into a door or window using a kerf or tape application. After the installation of the weather-stripping in the door or window it can then be painted or finished in a variety of ways. After the finish has dried the film protecting the weather strip can then be pealed away exposing a clean undisturbed weather strip.

  • Patent number: 8320096
Abstract: A clutch actuator for an electromechanical clutch having a solenoid actuating coil initially provides power to the solenoid at a high rate by using a high duty cycle pulse with a modulated controller. When the initial engagement of the clutch elements is sensed by a decrease in current, the duty cycle of the pulse width modulator is reduced and thereafter increased in a controlled fashion to accomplish a soft start.

  • Patent number: 8273048
Abstract: A method and various devices are disclosed that facilitates the measurement of hemodynamic parameters by injection of an indicator in an indicator dilution technique using an extracorporeal circuit connected to a patient. Specifically, the invention deals with problems caused by the spike in pressure in an extracorporeal line that result from the injection of a bolus. The method and various devices provide for diversion of blood during an indictor injection process and then return of the diverted blood back into the system after the injection is completed. The variations of the invention use diversion lines, accommodating cases and other devices that are designed to accumulate blood displaced during injection and then returning the blood to the extracorporeal circuit after injection.

  • Patent number: 8273434
Abstract: Resealable multi-ply labels include a base label ply and an overlaminate for capturing onserts between them. The base label plies carry an adhesive layer on the bottom surface for mounting the resealable multi-ply labels to articles. The base plies each include a hinge area, an attachment area, a tab area, and an intermediate area separating the hinge area from the attachment area. The overlaminates form permanent bonds with both the hinge areas and the tab areas of the base plies and form reusable bonds with the attachment areas of the base plies. The permanently bonded tab areas of the base plies provide access for releasing the overlaminates from the attachment areas of the base plies and exposing the onserts.
