Abstract: A video display includes a light signal generator that generates modulated light signals containing video information propagating along an optical guideway. A light-releasing mechanism releases light from the optical guideway in a timed relationship with the modulation of the light signals. A traveling lens propagates in communication with an optical guideway for guiding light released from the optical guideway into selected directions in a timed relationship with a modulation of the light signals.
Abstract: A catheter for retrograde orientation in a blood flow is used to determine the blood flow rate by thermodilution measurements. The determination of the blood flow rate accommodates injectate induced thermal influences on a dilution thermal sensor, wherein the thermal influences can occur prior to introduction of the injectate into the blood flow.

Abstract: A collapsible liquid storage tank for use in a freight container for selectively carrying solid freight and bulk liquid freight includes a substantially rigid gantry having a plurality of support posts, a first frame, a second frame suspended from the gantry, a substantially inelastic flexible fabric container having sidewalls connected between the first frame and the second frame, a water impermeable elastic bladder disposed within the fabric container, and a hoist coupled between the gantry and the second frame for lifting the second frame towards the first frame.
Abstract: A method of forming a combined feature boundary based on boundaries of first and second overlapping features includes dividing the boundaries of the first and second overlapping features into line segments of known shape, identifying crossing points formed by the line segments, calculating parametric coordinates of the crossing points, and determining a sequence of crossing point evaluation based on the parametric coordinates. The method also includes calculating a first cross product based on the line segments forming a first crossing point in the determined sequence, and choosing a first path of the combined feature boundary according to a mathematical sign of the first cross product, the first path extending from the first crossing point to the second crossing point in the determined sequence.
Abstract: The present invention includes a fixture for securing a work piece to a support surface at a machining workstation comprising a base attachable to the support surface and having at least one undercut edge, and, a work piece holder engaging the at least one undercut edge of the base, spaced apart from the support surface, and having moveable work piece attaching jaws.
Abstract: A coupler comprising two jaws and a latch for each jaw, one of the latches being powered for movement between a latching position and a non-latching position, and being associated with a blocking mechanism that is remotely movable between a blocking position and non blocking position, and the other latch being independent of the blocking mechanism, but being also remotely moveable between a latching position and a non-latching position, wherein the powered latch, in its non-latching position, can maintain both the blocking mechanism in its non blocking position and the other latch in its non-latching position, irrespective of the orientation of the coupler.
Abstract: A storage rack comprises a plurality of slacked supporting ledges each spaced away from each other arranged in pairs on facing sidewalls for receiving plate-type carriers for stored articles. Storage and retrieval of the carriers in the storage rack is provided by a transport device. The supporting ledges are a snaked press fit in the sheet metal of the sidewalls and the sidewalls are secured to upright rack stanchions. To define a storage rack ensuring exact positioning of the supporting ledges, it is proposed that the rack stanchions comprise horizontally protruding pegs engaging cavities in the supporting ledges.
Abstract: Multilayer oxygen absorbing structure comprising at least two reactive oxygen scavenging layers arranged in sequence: a rapidly absorbing highly reactive oxygen-scavenging system, comprising an oxygen permeable matrix polymer and an oxygen scavenger, and a long life layer comprising high passive oxygen barrier matrix polymer, and an oxygen scavenger.
Abstract: A spring element unit for a padding element, especially a mattress, comprises a plurality of spring elements. The spring element consists of an open-cell polyurethane flexible foam material and comprises at least one recess. Such a spring element unit is used in a padding element, especially a mattress, which comprises a base body for receiving the spring element unit. Such a spring element unit prevents a build-up of heat and humidity between the body and the supporting padding element.

Abstract: A container neck and closure assembly, wherein the container neck (10) comprises a first screw thread (14) on an internal surface thereof and the closure (12) comprises a cylindrical plug (32) for insertion into the container neck, said plug having a second screw thread (36, 37) on an outer surface thereof for engagement with the first screw thread to secure and resecure the closure on the neck.
Abstract: An apparatus for testing a tire (10), which has a center (M), a width (B1, B2) which extends in an axial direction (z) and a diameter (D1, D2) on a tire plane (RME, RME1, RME2, MBE) which is orthogonal to the axial direction (z), is provided with a measuring head (20) which can be used to scan the tire (10). The apparatus also has a positioning means (30) which can be used to position the measuring head (20) in an observation position and to align the measuring head in an observation direction. The positioning means (30) can be controlled with the aid of a control and display device (40). The control and display device (40) has at least one control panel (44, 45, 46, 47) which can be used to input the coordinates of the position of the measuring head (20). Alternatively or additionally, the control and display device (40) has at least one display panel (44, 45, 46, 47) which can be used to display the coordinates of the position of the measuring head (20).
