Patent number: 7495368Abstract: A bimorphic structure responsive to changes in an environmental condition, sensor structures incorporating one or more of such bimorphic structures, and a method of forming such bimorphic structures. The sensor structure has an electrically-conductive first contact on a substrate, and a bimorph beam anchored to the substrate so that a portion thereof is suspended above the first contact. The bimorph beam has a multilayer structure that includes first and second layers, with the second layer between the first layer and the substrate. A portion of the first layer projects through an opening in the second layer toward the first contact so as to define an electrically-conductive second contact located on the beam so as to be spaced apart and aligned with the first contact for contact with the first contact when the beam sufficiently deflects toward the substrate.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2007Date of Patent: February 24, 2009Assignee: Evigia Systems, Inc.Inventors: Bishnu Prasanna Gogoi, Navid Yazdi

Patent number: 7464460Abstract: A method for metallurgically bonding a stator bar to a coupling to reduce the incidence of leak paths resulting from corrosion. The stator bar comprises strands through which a liquid coolant can flow. Adjacent ends of the strands are received in an interior cavity of the coupling through an opening in the coupling. A joining material is provided on a first portion of the stator bar within the coupling opening and adjacent the ends of the strands. The first portion is heated to melt the joining material. At essentially the same time, a second portion of the stator bar outside the coupling is also heated. Once the joining material is suitably molten, the first portion is allowed to cool while the second portion remains heated, thereby causing the joining material nearest the ends of the strands to solidify first.Type: GrantFiled: February 9, 2006Date of Patent: December 16, 2008Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Raymond Grant Rowe, Alan Michael Iversen

Patent number: 7433258Abstract: A method and architecture that overcomes the problem of latency-caused performance degradation of electronic memory systems. The method involves a “Posted Precharge,” by which an external command for Precharge is given as early as possible, such as immediately following a Read command. The execution of the Precharge is delayed by a precharge counter until all Read/Write commands are completed. By posting a precharge command on a bus at the first available opportunity, multiple pages can be open on the same bank of a memory device. As a result, access latencies are significantly reduced and efficiency of bus in electronic memory systems is significantly improved.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2004Date of Patent: October 7, 2008Assignee: DataSecure LLC.Inventors: G. Patent number: 7399264Abstract: A process for producing high pressure tubing from austenitic stainless steels. The process entails passing a continuous austenitic stainless steel strip through pre-weld rolls enclosed in a forming housing to produce a continuous tubular shape having opposing edges separated by a longitudinal gap. While the gap is maintained with a seam guide and a liquid-free gas mixture of an inert gas and a gaseous flux is directed at the gap and into an interior of the tubular shape, the tubular shape is caused to pass through a high frequency induction coil to cause heating of the opposing edges of the tubular shape. Pressure is then applied to the tubular shape with weld rolls to force the opposing edges together and form a continuous tubing having a continuous butt weld joint. The weld joint is then quenched with an inert gas without the assistance of a liquid coolant.Type: GrantFiled: September 14, 2005Date of Patent: July 15, 2008Assignee: Mill Masters, Inc.Inventors: William E.
