  • Patent number: 4206189
Abstract: The method resides in that silicon tetrafluoride is subjected to water hydrolysis in the presence of sulphuric acid, the reactants being in an aerosol state.Hydrolysis is performed at a volume ratio of silicon tetrafluoride to sulphuric acid equal to 40:1-80:1, concentration of sulphuric acid within the range of 45-73 wt. %, and the rate of silicon tetrafluoride flow in the reaction zone of 0.2-4.0 m/sec. The process is run at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. As a result of hydrolysis, silicon dioxide and fluorine-containing sulphuric acid solution are obtained, hydrogen fluoride being extracted from the solution upon heating. The proposed invention makes possible an effective use of silicon tetrafluoride with maximum conversion of the components thereof into end products, separation of the end products taking place simultaneously with the formation thereof. The yield of the products reaches 92-95 wt. % of their content in the initial raw material.

  • Patent number: 4204638
Abstract: A process for coding a set of access cards adapted to control an apparatus for opening, locking or releasing a processing device and for the ultimate determination of the validity of a card when it is presented in the apparatus, the coding being effected by the formation on the cards of at least one diffraction grating whose recognition is effected by projection of a luminous beam on the grating and analysis of the diffracted beams. The grating is formed by means of a machine having a kinematic drive which is intentionally irregularized to produce at least one deviation in the spacing of the lines of the grating which varies periodically with a determined period and maximum amplitude. The modified grating will produce a supplementary satellite diffraction beam when illuminated by the luminous beam and whose angular position and intensity is measured to establish the validity of the grating.

The heat release of this chamber having relatively small overall dimensions can reach the order of 40.multidot.10.sup.6 kcal/m.sup.3.h. The outlets of the heating gases are on both opposite sides of the chamber are connected with cyclone reaction chambers where the processing of the mineral raw material occurs at temperatures established by the technology in the range up to 2500.degree. C. The furnace products flow down into a lower precipitation chamber where the non-gaseous content is finally separated from the gaseous components of the product.Depending on the process parameters and the type of the mineral raw material, the furnace product can be molten or sintered, or have a gaseous form. The waste heat of exhaust gases and heat originated by cooling of the furnace is utilized in utilizing arrangements.

  • Patent number: 4205130
Abstract: A new method of purification of human prostatic acid phosphatase has been provided. The starting point for the purification process is constituted by a solution containing acid phosphatase and having its origin in a sample derived from a human body. If required, said sample is subjected to a pretreatment so as to draw the phosphatase into solution and to remove any solid tissues. The solution is then treated by means of affinity chromatography, whereby the phosphatase in question is separated from other proteins. The chromatographic step is performed in a column packed with an agarose gel coupled with tartrate groups. A sodium acetate buffer containing tartrate may be used as an eluent and the eluate is collected as successive fractions. Those fractions containing the phosphatase are further treated by means of isoelectric focusing so as to separate the different isoenzymes of the phosphatase from each other. The isoelectric focusing may be performed either in a column or on a disc covered with a gel.
