Abstract: A method and components for adapting a standard rectangular or other pre-existing junction box for mounting within cylindrical concrete piers and other curved structures commonly employed for supporting light poles and other mechanisms wherein the front wall portion of the adapted junction box and the face plate member associated therewith for controlling access to the interior portion of the junction box are both shaped and configured to conform to the specific curvature associated with the outer surface of the curved structure into which the adapted junction box will be mounted. The present components enable the adapted junction box to be completely embedded within the curved structure such that the exposed front wall portion thereof including the face plate member lie substantially flush with the outer surface of the curved retaining structure.
Abstract: A programmable multiple coin tube changer for accepting and storing coins of different denomination comprises a plurality of coin tubes with each coin tube for storing one coin denomination and each coin tube being removable from the changer in order to reconfigure the coin tubes, circuitry for initiating a payout configuration mode whenever the coin tubes are reconfigured from an initial configuration to a subsequent configuration, circuitry for selecting which one of the coin tubes are to store a particular coin, a mechanism for routing a particular coin to the coin tube which has been selected for storing that particular coin, and a memory for storing information corresponding to the coin tube which has been selected for storing that particular coin. The programmable multiple coin tube changer also has the capability of accepting one or more coins which were previously rejected by the changer and rejecting one or more coins which were previously accepted by the changer.
Abstract: A honing member for use in honing the external cylindrical surface of a workpiece comprising an elongated annular member having a passageway extending the entire length therethrough, the inner annular surface of such passageway having abrasive particles attached directly thereto or formed integrally therewith, the inner annular surface being substantially cylindrical in shape and having at least one tapered portion adjacent one end portion of the honing member, and a slot formed through one side portion of the annular member extending the full length thereof to facilitate expansion and contraction thereof to radially adjust the diameter of the inner surface of the annular member.
Abstract: Apparatus for displaying and protecting a garment in an unfolded, substantially visible condition, the apparatus including a generally planar backing member including a body portion and at least two limb portions attached to the body portion at locations corresponding to the locations of limb receiving members of the garment, the limb portions of the backing member being preferably bendable relative to the body portion to allow insertion of the backing member into the garment such that the limb portions are received in arm or leg portions of the garment, and a protective envelope constructed of overlapping generally transparent film members having outer peripheral edge portions joined together forming an interior cavity adapted for receiving the backing member when located in the garment, the backing member and the protective envelope each having a profile shape corresponding to the profile shape of the garment when in an unfolded condition, the protective envelope being marginally larger for receiving the ba
Abstract: A macular indentor for positioning over a macular area of an eye comprises a strip of material having a pair of opposed ends, the strip having a raised portion for indenting the macular area of the eye. The macular indentor is also inflatable for selectively applying pressure to the macular area of the eye.
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention is an apparatus for indicating a patron's status in a restaurant, the apparatus comprising one or more color-coded subsections on a device within the patron's reach. The present apparatus includes a movable indicator that the patron may position over a selected subsection to communicate a particular message to the waiter. A legend positioned on or near one or more of the subsections may provide a description of the message corresponding to a particular color. The status indicating apparatus may be incorporated in a device for handling the patron's check and payment, such as a portfolio or tray, or in some other structure such as the edge of the patron's table or a fixture on the table.
