  • Patent number: 6061279
Abstract: A delay circuit is provided, which is capable of eliminating the influence of noise of low frequency as disturbance. A plurality of memory cells including a plurality of capacitors store an analog signal as an input signal by storing charge of the input signal in the capacitors. A first inverting device inverts the input signal to generate an inverted signal. A control circuit generates and delivers control signals to the memory cells to select the input signal and the inverted signal alternately and sequentially write the selected signals into the memory cells in a predetermined writing sequence. The control circuit further generates and delivers to the memory cells to sequentially read out the input signal and the inverted signal from the memory cells in a sequence corresponding to the predetermined writing sequence. A second inverting device inverts the read-out inverted signal. An output signal is synthesized from the read-out input signal and an output signal of the second inverting device.

  • Patent number: 6061648
Abstract: In a speech coding apparatus, an input device inputs a mixed speech signal of a plurality of speakers. A separating device analyzes period characteristics of the input mixed speech signal, and separates the same signal into a plurality of single speech signals each associated with a corresponding one of the speakers, based on a result of the analysis. A first extracting device extracts source speech characteristic parameters included in each of the single speech signals. A second extracting device extracts a generic vocal-tract characteristic parameter from the input mixed speech signal. In a speech decoding apparatus, a first input device inputs the source speech characteristic parameters for each of the speakers. A second input device inputs the vocal-tract characteristic parameter.

  • Patent number: 6035819
Abstract: A variable valve timing controller according to the present invention comprises a locking mechanism for holding the vane in the middle of the pressure chamber until the internal combustion engine starts; and a damper for sealing up one of the advance chamber and the delay chamber and for slowing the relative rotation between the rotational shaft and the rotation-transmitting member. According to the present invention, the locking mechanism maintains the vane in the middle of the pressure chamber until the internal combustion engine starts. Therefore, the vane cannot vibrate even when unstable transitional pressure is supplied to the pressure chamber so that no undesirable noise shall be generated. Further, the valve timing may be further delayed after the internal combustion engine starts since the vane is maintained in the middle of the pressure chamber.

  • Patent number: 6021996
Abstract: An electromagnetically operable proportional pressure control device has a spool which is slidably housed in a cylindrical bore formed in a housing. A pressure chamber defined in the cylindrical bore communicates with an inlet port through a diametrically reduced bore and an outlet port through a return hole, a pilot valve and a return passage. The pressure difference produced between the inlet port and the pressure chamber causes the spool to move establishing a direct fluid communication of both ports. An oil flow from the inlet port into the pressure chamber is smaller than an oil flow from the pressure chamber to the return passage.

  • Patent number: 6019817
Abstract: A system for capturing HAPs/VOCs from an existing or planned air stream and destroying the contaminants in the air stream by microbial degradation is disclosed. In general, the system is composed of a reservoir with a filter structure positioned above it. The filter structure contains a capture or filtration media through which contaminated air or vapors must pass. HAPs/VOCs in the air or vapors are filtered out and absorbed by the capture media. The reservoir contains a tank water bath that is inoculated with microorganisms that are selected to degrade the hazardous materials or pollutants removed by the capture media. Sprinkler heads above the filter structure spray the filter structure with a sprayed water bath also inoculated with the microorganisms, whereby contaminants caught in the filter structure are leached out and bioremediated.
