  • Patent number: 5772170
Abstract: A suction chamber is provided in the rear portion of a pad body remote from an external pad supporting surface. The fore end portion of the pad body facing the pad supporting surface is divided into a plurality of sucking compartments for communication with the suction chamber. An air flow passage is provided for communication with the suction chamber. Valve mechanisms are provided in air flow paths between the respective sucking compartments and the suction chamber and are closable by a sucked air flow occurring during vacuum suction. Further, an automatic switching valve is provided in a part of the air flow passage in such a manner that the switching valve is caused to open in response to abutment against the pad supporting surface of the pad body. The air flow passage is formed in such a manner that a direction of force acting to cause the automatic switching valve to open differs from a direction of counteractive force against a spring structure that normally urges the switching valve to close.

  • Patent number: 5763294
Abstract: A solid tape automated bonding method includes steps of: applying a pattern of a first dry film on a first portion of a copper plate; forming wiring; forming bumps; removing dry film and exposing the wiring and the bumps; selectively laminating an insulator layer onto portions of the exposed copper plate and the wiring; laminating a metal layer on the insulator layer; applying glue on the metal layer, the bumps, and respective exposed portions of the wiring and the copper plate; etching the copper plate thus exposing one side of the wiring as ball pads and exposing one side of the insulator layer; coating solder resist on the exposed bottom side of the insulator layer; removing the glue; attaching a die against the bumps; applying mold compound onto the die so as to fix the die in place; and attaching solder balls onto the ball pads. This method provides relatively high density of wiring and simplification in manufacturing.

  • Patent number: 5759148
Abstract: The invention is a system for inflating and deflating an intra-aortic balloon through an isolating safety chamber, which utilizes a flexible element to separate the balloon actuating gas from the driving air in a closed balloon circuit. Pressure and vacuum are supplied by separate pressure and vacuum stages, which are driven by the same shaft. The shaft speed is varied to control one of the pressures at a selected value, whereby the other pressure is maintained at a constant value within an allowable band.
