Abstract: An indicator mechanism for visually displaying the full condition of a lawn mower grass collection bag, specially adapted for use on a riding lawn mower having a rear mounted bag. The indicator mechanism comprises a housing mounted to the discharge chute leading from the mower cutting deck to the collection bag, in a position visible to the driver during normal cutting operation of the mower. The housing includes a compartment in communication with the interior of the discharge duct through a suitable opening. An indicating member is hingedly disposed within the housing and is movable between a lowered position and a raised position in response to pressure variations caused by changes in the air flow within the duct. When the collection bag becomes full, high pressure within the duct forces the indicating member to its raised position, where it is visible to the driver through a window formed in the side of the housing.
Abstract: The pin site shield having a separate sponge and retainer removably securable to an orthopedic pin, wire, or similar implement. The retainer comprises a body having a slot form therein for receiving the orthopedic pin and a clamping member hingedly secured thereto. The clamping member is selectively moveable between open and closed positions, with interlocking surfaces on the body and clamping member engaging one another when the retainer is in its closed position to secure the retainer at its appropriate position on the pin. Protrusions on the body and clamping member allow installation of the retainer by squeezing the protrusions between a thumb and forefinger, with removal of the retainer being effected by spreading the protrusions apart.
Abstract: A belt clutch control apparatus is disclosed having a control handle and linkage means for selectively controlling the transmission and power from a driving pulley to a driven pulley through a driving belt. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus is specially adapted to control the operation of the cutting blades on a riding mower. The linkage includes an undercenter connecting link for transmitting rotational movement of the control shaft to a bellcrank, which engages a tension spring to operatively move an idler pulley between engaged and disengaged positions relative to the driving belt. The undercenter link moves exclusively between first and second undercenter positions, and is never forced into an overcenter position. An assist spring is provided for securing the undercenter link in both its on and off undercenter positions, thereby relieving the idler pulley spring for this purpose.
Abstract: Apparatus for suspending, raising and lowering the cutting deck beneath the frame of a riding lawn mower, comprising a pair of lifting arms having first ends rotatably secured to the frame and second ends secured to the cutting deck, rotation of the lifting arms effecting vertical movement of said cutting deck. A pedal operated lifting mechanism is provided, selectively operable by the user of the mower to rotate the lifting arms, thereby raising and/or lower the cutting deck. A suspending member is disposed through an opening in the frame above a portion of one lifting arm, said suspending member having a lower end secured to the lifting arm and an upper end disposed above the opening in the frame. A support member secured to the upper end of the suspending member engages the frame to limit downward movement of the suspending member and lifting arm, and is selectively adjustable by the user to adjust the cutting height of the deck.

Abstract: Mobile apparatus for attachment to a hospital bed, gurney, wheelchair, or similar transport device, has an attendant call button operable by the patient in case of an emergency, thereby activating a signal to summon an attendant. In a preferred embodiment, the signal includes both a visual indicator and an audible indicator, wherein the visual indicator is a light positioned at the distal end of a stanchion mounted to a housing, and the audible indicator is a beeper disposed within the housing. The call button is attached to the distal end of a retractable power cord and has a clip associated therewith for securing the button to the patient's clothing, bed covering, or other location convenient for the patient. Electronic circuitry contained within the housing and powered by a rechargeable battery is employed to sequentially control the operation of the light and beeper. The housing is easily detachable from the transport apparatus to facilitate recharging of the battery.
