  • Patent number: 7258114
Abstract: A paintball marker or other compressed gas firearm is provided including a ram driven by an electropneumatic valve when a trigger is actuated to cause a main valve between a high pressure air supply and a firing chamber to be opened. This ram assembly is independent from the main valve structurally and coupled to the air supply and electropneumatic valve sufficiently flexibly to allow the ram assembly to be operable when the ram assembly is displaced away from the main valve. A bolt is provided for directing pressurized air from the main valve to the firing chamber when the main valve is opened, and with the bolt configured to provide a high pressure air pathway which has a high degree of effectiveness in driving the ball out of the firing chamber without distorting a trajectory of the ball. The bolt can be stationary when air is flowing past the bolt.

  • Patent number: 7255551
Abstract: A system is provided for high volume print-forming of structures made up of multiple separate layers. A support bed is provided which has multiple steps arrayed thereon at different heights. Substrate blocks rest upon each of the steps. A printing process is utilized to print material from which the structures are to be formed down onto the substrate blocks. This printing process prints different layers onto each of the substrate blocks. The substrate blocks then move to a different step on the support bed and the printing process is repeated. Each support block has a partial structure thereon which receives its next successive layer in each printing cycle until the partial structure becomes a completed structure by having each of its layers sequentially printed thereon. Subsystems are provided for moving the substrate blocks upon the support bed and for properly holding and aligning substrate blocks upon the support bed.

  • Patent number: 7186974
Abstract: This invention relates to an electrospray emitter which comprises an emitter body comprising an inlet orifice, an outlet orifice and a channel connecting the inlet orifice and the outlet orifice; and a coating formed at least on the outer surface of the exit end of the emitter body with a material of low surface energy. The emitters can produce stable electrospray without the aid of any nebulizing gas in the flow rate range of micro-to nano-liters, depending on the surface tension of solvent including distilled water with a high surface tension. The electrically non-conductive nature of their tips virtually eliminates electrical discharge and allows stable electrospray in the negative ion mode. To prevent loss of analytes during delivery between the emitter and analytical devices, e.g., liquid chromatography, a method of coating the inner surface of the connecting line with chemically inert material of low surface energy is also described.
