Abstract: An apparatus for attachment to a rear end of a combine for spreading straw and chaff comprises a pair of side-by-side rotating pans with attached blades for spreading chaff, with a straw spreader attached to and above each pan to spread straw before same falls onto the pans. Each pan is enclosed at the front by a vertical wall with an opening to allow chaff to exit to the rear and side. A lip extends from the top of the wall toward the center of the pan to enhance the air blast and increase the distance chaff is blown. Rear deflectors allow the amount of chaff directed to the rear to be varied.

Abstract: A lint filter construction 10 for use with the drain outlet 101 of a washing machine 100 wherein the construction 10 includes a filter body unit 11 comprising a sieve-like body member 20 fabricated from a sheet of plastic netting and having an upper portion 22 dimensioned to receive and be captively secured to the drain outlet 101 by a filter attachment unit 12 and further including an enlarged intermediate portion 23 and an enlarged lower portion 24; wherein, the lower portion 24 is further provided with a releasable sealing arrangement 40 for removing trapped lint directly from the bottom of the sieve-like body member 20.

Abstract: A see through protective cover construction (10) for the interior of a crib (100) as defined by the crib slats (101). The construction (10) includes a padding unit (11) including four pairs of interior (21) and exterior (22) resilient padding segments provided with aligned viewing portals (23) and joined together to sandwich a length of netting fabric (30) which is stretched across each of the viewing portals, and a fitted fabric cover member (40) dimensioned to envelope the padding unit (11) and having openings surrounding the viewing portals (23). The fabric cover member (40) is provided with a cover securing unit (14) for releasably engaging the construction (10) to selected slats (101) on the crib (100).

Abstract: A page holder adapted to hold opposing pages of a book in an open position while reading. The page holder includes first and second wings meeting at a junction point and disposed at an angle of about 150° with respect to each other. A thumb opening is spaced back from the leading surface of the first and second wings and offset slightly from the junction point toward the first wing. In use, the reader's thumb is inserted into the thumb opening and the junction point is placed between two adjoining pages of an open book near the bottom of the pages. One wing extends over and holds down the page on the right while the other wing holds down the page on the left. One embodiment of the invention is formed of clear plastic material using injection molding, while another embodiment is made of metal wire using wireform manufacturing techniques.

Abstract: A bow support device comprising a spring-loaded alligator type clip for attachment to the nock of a loaded arrow which is suspended from an archer's person, allowing the archer to release his grasp on the bow for extended periods of time while stalking or awaiting the approach of wild game. A first embodiment utilizes an alligator type clip for securement of the device to the archer's clothing, as to the flap of a jacket pocket, while a second embodiment suspends the nock attaching clip from the archer's neck.

Abstract: An automatic hydraulic system 10 for the actuation of the bending beds 101, 102 hinge plate 103 and pin up plate 104 of a pipe bending apparatus. The reverse side of the compartment cover has instructions for treating the particular emergency, while the compartment contains the necessary care items for that particular emergency. A divider is held by snaps across the upper section of the case to help contain the contents and also provides instruction for use of the kit, some general first aid information, and a list of emergency telephone numbers.

Abstract: An apparatus to maintain optimum engine speed and cutter wheel speed to maintain peak power output of the engine and peak flywheel effect of the stump cutter wheel and method for maintaining optimum engine speed. The stump cutter has a rotating cutting wheel powered by an engine, and the cutter is mounted to be moved laterally. The mounting includes a boom and at least a first hydraulic cylinder for urging the boom to move along the path of travel over the surface of a stump. The hydraulic cylinder is activated by a hydraulic circuit which includes a source of pressurized hydraulic fluid. A pressure hydraulic line connects the source of hydraulic fluid to a first port of the hydraulic cylinder and a return line is connected to a second port of the hydraulic cylinder. A valve diverts a portion of flow from the pressure line to the return line or to a sump. The valve is shiftable between at least a first and a second position.

Abstract: An automatic entryway step system for recreational vehicles and motor homes which extends and retracts a step in response to a momentary push button switch located inside the vehicle near the door. A safety retraction system automatically retracts the step when the vehicle ignition is turned on, but only if the vehicle parking brake is not engaged. If the vehicle ignition system is turned on while the parking brake is engaged, a step warning indicator will be activated to alert the driver that the step is extended. If the parking brake is released, the step will retract and the warning indicator will be turned off.

Abstract: A method for installing a ventricular assist device cannula of a novel type including a blood drainage cannula tube having a first end and a second end and a blood inlet cannula tube having a first end and a second end with the tubes being attached together to form a sealed section having a convex outer periphery. The method includes making an opening in a heart, inserting the blood drainage cannula tube through the opening whereby the first end is disposed in a heart chamber and at the same time inserting the blood inlet cannula tube through the opening and also inserting it through the aortic valve so that the first end thereof is disposed in the aorta. At the convex surface, the ventricular assist device cannula is sutured to the heart to hold it in place and to prevent blood drainage therearound.

Abstract: An apparatus for maintaining a spare tire in the trunk of a vehicle fully inflated. A conventional spare tire has a metal wheel with a rubber inflatable tire attached thereto and a valve stem extending out of the bottom on one side thereof. An extension tube sealingly attached at one end thereof to one end of the valve stem on one side of the wheel extends to the other side of the wheel through a rubber washer disposed in one of the lug holes. A one-way valve stem is disposed in the other end of the extension tube for permitting inflation of the tire through the extension tube. A pressure gauge is connected to the extension tube adjacent to the one-way valve for constantly showing the air pressure inside of the tire.

Abstract: A fishing apparatus including a wire yoke designed to extend around the bottom of and to each side of a tail portion of a minnow. A straight bendable wire shank member is connected at one end thereof to the top end of one side of the yoke and extends substantially horizontally in use when attached to a minnow. This shank member is designed to extend through a tail section of a minnow. A downwardly extending member on the top of the other side of the yoke is provided for selectively holding the other end of the shank member from bending upwardly when disposed within such downwardly extending member, but permitting the shank member to bend downwardly and outwardly to become disengaged from such downwardly extending member such that the free end of the shank member, when unlocked, can be pushed through the tail section of a minnow and then locked into place under the downwardly extending member. A hook is connected to the bottom of the wire yoke.
