Abstract: A radiation protective vest includes a back panel with flaps at opposite lower sides and a pair of front panels, each panel containing radiation shielding material. Each front panel has an inner straight edge and a flap at a lower outer side. The front and back panels are connected to form the vest. A first strap is attached to one front panel and a second strap is attached to the other front panel. The second strap is threaded in a first sleeve attached to the inside of the back panel and the first strap is threaded in a second sleeve attached to the inside of the back panel. A fastener is provided on the free ends straps. When the vest is worn, the flaps of the front panels press against a user's waist and the back panel flaps overlap the front panels.

Abstract: A universal folding carrier for carrying objects on tailgates of pickup trucks and trunk lids of automobiles or the like has a substantially U-shaped frame, a substantially U-shaped carrying member and a substantially U-shaped supporting member. The folding carrier is movable between a folded or storage position and a locked extended or operational position. The carrying arm is pivotally mounted to the frame and the supporting member is pivotally mounted to the frame. A latching assembly includes a pair of first brackets. The first brackets are mounted on opposite sides of the frame. A pair of second brackets is mounted to opposite sides of the carrying member, each second bracket having a ramp portion and a latch. A latching assembly with first and second latching members is mounted to the first brackets. Each latching member has an engaging pin, the engaging pins extending from opposite ends of the latching members.
Abstract: A swing-out hitch mounted equipment carrier that is movable between collapsed and extended positions has a rectangular insert that is sized and shaped to be received in a trailer hitch receiver affixed to a vehicle. A fixed arm is attached to the insert. A swing arm is pivotally connected to the fixed arm. A vertical member having an equipment carrier affixed on an upper end is pivotally connected at a lower end to the swing arm. The vertical member is constrained for rotational movement about its longitudinal axis, the equipment carrier rotating with the vertical member. A controller is provided for controlling the ratio of the relative movement of the swing arm and equipment carrier as the swing-out hitch mounted equipment carrier is moved between the collapsed and extended positions.
Abstract: A universal water meter connector assembly that is configured to be used with different sized water meter couplers and a variety of dwelling supply lines. The universal water meter connector assembly includes a hexagonal hollow body that terminates in an externally threaded head at one end. The hexagonal body is provided with an internally threaded medial portion an end adjacent the head and an internally threaded end portion at the other end of the hexagonal body. The thread size of the medial portion is smaller than the thread size of the end portion to accommodate different sized water meter couplers. A internal stop is formed in the body below the head and above the medial portion for limiting movement of a supply line inserted into the body. The free end of the head is formed with an internally tapered portion that is configured to receive a cone-shaped member having a narrow end and a wide end with a beveled rim.

Abstract: A swing-away hitch mounted equipment carrier that is movable between collapsed and extended positions has a rectangular insert that is sized and shaped to be received in a trailer hitch receiver affixed to a vehicle. A fixed arm is attached to the insert. A first swing arm is pivotally connected to the fixed arm and a second swing arm is pivotally connected to the first swing arm. A vertical member having an equipment carrier affixed on an upper end is pivotally connected at a lower end to the second swing arm. The vertical member is constrained for rotational movement about its longitudinal axis, the equipment carrier rotating with the vertical member. A first control member is provided for controlling the pivoting movement of the first and second swing arms as the swing-away hitch mounted equipment carrier is moved between the collapsed and extended positions.
Abstract: A multipurpose plumbing tool has a body at one end, a head at an opposite end and an intermediate neck portion connecting the body and head. The marginal end portion of the body is cut back to form a reduced section, a shoulder being formed at the junction of the reduced section and a non-reduced section of the body. The reduced section is internally and externally threaded. An inwardly tapered seat for an O-ring is formed in the shoulder. An O-ring positioned in the tapered seat is compressed and contained within the tapered seat to provide a water tight seal when the externally threaded end is threaded into a female fitting. The free end of the head is formed with an internally threaded socket. A washer seated at the bottom of the socket provides a water tight seal when the socket is screwed onto a male plumbing fitting.
Abstract: A plumbing apparatus for connecting a tankless hot water heater to a cold water supply line and a hot water outlet line includes a union and a tee that are interconnected to one another. A first connector at one end of the union is provided for connecting the union to the tankless hot water heater. A second connector at a free end of the tee is provided for connecting the tee to either the cold water supply line or the hot water outlet line. The tee is provided with a branch for connecting the plumbing apparatus to a plumbing device. A passage formed in the union and tee permits fluid to flow there through and through the branch.
Abstract: A system is described for obtaining standardized photographs of the iris with exposure dependent on iris color. Analysis of iris color of these photographs uses image analysis digitized in the red-green-blue spectrum for determining changes of iris color over time in patients with disease and on drug therapy. A region of interest of the iris is selected to minimize artifacts such as corneal reflection. White light (Red-Green-Blue) spectrum or color ratios such as red/blue are used to measure density and areas of color over at selected time intervals. The image analysis digitized in the red-green-blue spectrum for measuring color of iris photographs show no significant change in iris color in normals, but did show significant changes in iris color in glaucomatous eyes treated with precription eye drops.
Abstract: A collapsible bicycle carrier has a base that is configured to fit a trailer hitch receiver on a motor vehicle. An upright frame is operatively connected to the base. A T-shaped member having a vertical upright body and a horizontal crossbar is connected to the frame. A substantially U-shaped carrying assembly having a pair of carrying arms at an open end thereof is pivotally mounted to the crossbar. A slide having a tab is slidably received on the upright body. A bracket is rotatably mounted at its ends to the tab and a closed end of the carrying assembly. A lock is provided on the slide for locking the slide in first and second positions. The carrying arms are in an extended carrying position when the slide is locked in the first position and in a collapsed position when the slide is locked in the second position.
