Abstract: A skate housing assembly for high speed in-line roller skates. There is a frame with a top surface attached to a sole of a skate boot and two descending side skirts having multiple linear transverse bores. A pocket located on the inside surface of each descending skirt surrounding a bore receives a flange from a bearing insert mounted within a skate wheel. A shaft axially mounted through the skirt bores and bearing insert aligns the wheel on the skate housing.
Abstract: A tubular housing is mounted to an outside bulkhead of a vessel with a tubular outrigger pole socket mounted at a first end to the tubular housing. An outrigger pole is mounted to the pole socket at a second end. A connecting strut, attached to a movable bracket at a first end, moves at one end within a slot in the tubular housing. The connecting strut, attached to a slidable bracket at a second end, moves at a second end within a slot in the pole socket. A collapsible strut supports the pole socket. A piston is hydraulically driven upwards within the tubular housing to retrieve the outrigger. The outrigger is deployed by pumping hydraulic fluid back to a pump reservoir. The pump is controlled electrically by a switch mounted on the vessel's steering panel.
Abstract: A 1.4-1.6 mm diameter microendoscope is introduced into a duct leading to the submaxillary or parotid glands containing a concrement. The endoscope is adapted to contain a working channel, an image bundle, a light bundle and a wire, all structure fixedly spaced apart within the microendoscope. A laser fiber is inserted into the working channel to the concrement and the concrement is fragmented with a laser shock wave while flushing the fragments away through the working channel.
Abstract: A fastener insert attached to a mounting fixture is inserted into a hole drilled in a honeycomb panel. The mounting fixture has a rod with a disc at an end depending from a base and a chimney ascending from the base. Two bores are located in the base and are enclosed by the chimney. The mounting fixture base overlaps the head of the fastener insert which has two bores in the head. The bores in the fastener insert head are aligned with bores in the base of the mounting fixture. Epoxy is inserted into one of the bores in the base of the mounting fixture continuously until it returns out the second bore. The epoxy is allowed to cure and thereafter the mounting fixture is removed by a turning motion.
Abstract: Animal species are treated either intravenously or by tube directly to the gut with a solution containing a lactoferrin bound to a metal ion, the metal ion content being at least 0.1 mg per gram of lactoferrin. The dose is sufficient to inhibit endotoxins.
Abstract: An invalid assistance device mounted on a wall in which a supported locked and guided flexible line is used to stabilize an invalid in the range of desired vertical positions from sitting to standing while a single attendant can work with the stabilized invalid.
Abstract: A lower support bracket has an integral back wall, pair of side walls and a bottom plate with a through bore. An elastomeric spacer is mounted axially above and below the bottom plate bore and an adjuster device is axially mounted below the lower elastomeric spacer. The bracket is held in place by a bolt through the bore to an aircraft frame structure. The back wall is attached to an escutcheon plate which is in turn attached to a lower portion of an aircraft interior panel. The upper support bracket has a mounting plate attached to an aircraft fuselage frame structure. A pivoting arm at a first end is spaced from the mounting plate by an elastomeric gasket and at a second end is attached to a panel bracket attached to an upper portion of the interior panel so that the interior panel is spaced apart from the aircraft fuselage frame structure.
Abstract: An aqueous reaction mixture of a multi-functional polydimethyl siloxane emulsified polymer, a methyl triethoxy silane, a mixture of substituted nonyl or octyl phenol derivative surfactants and synthetic ethoxylated amine surfactants, and ethanol. The reaction mixture is coated on a mold core surface and cured with heat to form a mold release surface that can be used in excess of twenty times prior to recoating.
Abstract: An aircraft interior skeleton spaced apart from the aircraft frame is formed from multiple spaced apart upright U-shaped ribs attached to horizontal intercostal U-shaped members conforming to the aircraft frame members, but not contacting such frame members. Multiple interior honeycomb side panels and overhead panels are hinged from the interior skeleton and interlocked with adjacent panels. An overhead connecting member is attached to a top end of each rib and a dampening device connects the bottom end of each rib to an aircraft frame member. Adjustable cable connectors position the interior skeleton within the aircraft by connecting the horizontal intercostal members to the aircraft frame members.
Abstract: A thin layer of a drug in a liquid form in a carrier is applied to the skin. Thereafter, 15-30 milliamps of a D.C. current is applied to the skin and drug by an iontophoresis device capable of being hand held and activated by thumb contact with a positive electrode and scalp skin contact with a negative electrode. The device has a two component housing enclosing an electrical circuit connecting the two electrodes. The circuit utilizes a 9 V battery, two load regulators, two capacitors, a momentary switch and a 2V-40V output range DC/DC converter. Alternatively, negative electrodes of varying structure can be plugged into the device to provide multi-purpose application to the scalp and the positive electrode can be separately plugged to the device to free the hand of the treating technician.
Abstract: An outer cylindrical stationary housing is mounted on a support frame. An inner removable rotating drum mounted at an angle of 6-7 degrees from the base of the apparatus is turned by a shaft driven by an electric motor turning the shaft at 2-4 rpm. A heater element maintains about 350 degrees F in the rotating drum to roast nuts and multiple vanes mounted within the inner rotating drum keep the nuts tumbling so that they are evenly heated.
