Abstract: A stringed musical instrument, such as a guitar, whereby the lower end of the strings are anchored to the soundboard itself with one or more of the string anchors being positioned past the bridge. This arrangement provides an offset of the lateral compressive forces to the entire soundboard, therefore allowing the soundboard to vibrate more freely in response to the string vibration, and creating an acoustical perpetuating effect. Due to the inherent strength to this design, internal soundboard bracing can be minimized in weight and size as well, which offers a fuller and louder sound, with an increase in sonic balance and sustain.
Abstract: An interface element (10) used on a gliding board, said element being inserted between the sole (20) of the user's boot and the top side of the board (8) so as to take the thrust exerted toward the board by the user at least at the front end of the sole, and which comprises at least one zone (11, 12, 15) made of a thermoformable material capable, after exposure to heat, of matching the imprint of at least the front end (21) of the sole (20) of the boot so as to fill the volume between the top side (8) of the board and the sole of the boot (20).
Abstract: Enhancement of the rates of cationic polymerizations initiated by onium salts has been achieved through the use of oligomeric and polymeric electron-transfer photosensitizers derived from a polymerizable compound substituted with a polynuclear aromatic group, including epoxides, oxetanes, and ethylenically unsaturated compounds. The polymerizable compound is substituted with residues derived from anthracene, naphthalene, perylene, pyrene, fluorene, carbazole, indole, benzocarbazole, acridone, phenothiazine, and thianthrene, particularly carbazole.
Abstract: A cosmetic composition for skin care containing retinol and epidermal growth factor is disclosed. In embodiments of the cosmetic composition, the epidermal growth factor is preferably present in an amount of 0.00001 to 1% by weight, and more preferably 0.0001 to 0.1% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition. The EGF-containing cosmetic composition of the present invention enhances the skin care effect of retinol and also alleviates adverse effects of retinol, such as skin irritation.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid suppository composition comprising diclofenac sodium, poloxamer and at least one polymer select from the group consisting of polyethylene oxide and polyvinylpyrrolidone. The composition provides the advantages of. (1) a feel of foreign matter or discomfort does not occur when the composition is rectally administered; and (2) administration is easy and after rectal administration, the composition is neither leaked out from the anus nor shifted into the end of large intestine.
