    Abstract: A flowerpot employs a water reservoir in its bottom section, a soil holding section above the water reservoir, a porous water/soil separation board which separates the water reservoir and the soil holding section, and a pot cover. Any excessive water in the water reservoir can escape to the outside through an overflow water escape facility. The porous water/soil separation board holds the soil thereon and allows any moisture or water to pass therethrough. The pot cover collects dews and rainwater and keeps the moisture in the pot from escaping to the outside by evaporation. Namely, the flowerpot is a planting system which has automatic water preserving, drainage, and recycling facilities.

The spacings of the sensor output pulses represent amounts of energy of the ultraviolet radiation detected by the UV sensor. Each pulse spacing of the sensor output pulses is measured, and the pulses are regarded as "continuous" if the pulse spacings are less than a predetermined time period. The presence of a predetermined number of "continuous" sensor output pulses is interpreted as a recognition of a flame, and an alarm is activated.

    Abstract: A multilayer printed wiring board and a method of manufacturing the board are provided. The board has a printed wiring incorporating metal powder consisting of fine grains and a layer of insulation material which is adhesive when uncured. The fine grains of the metal powder are securely fixed to the layer of insulation material so as to strengthen the bond between the printed wiring and the layer of insulation material. Alternatively, the layer of insulation material incorporates a layer of glass powder to enhance the insulation thereof. In this case, the layer of glass powder is made by evenly spreading glass powder on a first coat of uncured adhesive insulation material. The layer of glass powder is covered by a second coat of insulation material after the first coat of insulation material is cured so that the layer of glass powder is sandwiched between the two coats of insulation material.

    Abstract: A process for the manufacture of an olefin oligomer, comprising the steps of polymerizing an olefin monomer in the presence of boron trifluoride and a boron trifluoride-alcohol complex as catalysts, to prepare a first oligomerization product, and then carrying out one of following steps (a) to (c): (a) removing boron trifluoride from the above first product by (i) placing the product under a reduced pressure, (ii) blowing an inert gas into the product, or (iii) heating the product at a relatively low temperature, to thereby prepare a second oligomerization product, and then subjecting the second product to a precipitation treatment to separate the boron trifluoride-alcohol complex therefrom, (b) heating the above first product at a relatively elevated temperature to recover boron trifluoride, or (c) centrifuging the above first product to recover the boron trifluoride-alcohol complex. These steps allow the catalysts to be recovered while maintaining the activity thereof at a desired level.
