  • Patent number: 6158777
Abstract: A system for folding a sheet of material is provided. Creases are formed in the sheet representing fold lines for the sheet. A plurality of first indicia markings are provided on the sheet with each first marking being positioned so as to align with a respective one of a plurality of second indicia markings when the sheet is correctly folded along the crease lines. In an embodiment, the sheet size is a multiple of 2 inches by 3.5 inches to allow the sheet to be folded into a business card size which will readily fit into a pocket, purse or a wallet. In an embodiment, the sheet is folded so as to have a final folded size of no greater than 20 square inches. To permit an easy and full viewing of any particular segment of information printed on the sheet, the sheet is folded by a plurality of lateral and longitudinal folds to provide a plurality of panels bounded by fold lines. Discrete segments of information are printed on the panels.

  • Patent number: 6118365
Abstract: In the ISDN telecommunication system, the connection between a digital local exchange and the network termination ensues via a public two-wire line at whose ends what are referred to as U-transformers reside. When the network termination leads to a terminal subscriber, then this is called a U.sub.k0 interface whereat the line length between the transformers can amount to up to 8 km. The bit error rate of the transmitted pulses must be <10.sup.-7, whereby the pulses have direct currents for the remote feed of the terminal subscribers that can amount to up to 80 mA superimposed on them. For such U.sub.K0 transformers, a toroidal tape core of a soft-magnetic, amorphous, magnetostriction-free alloy tape is employed. The manufactured toroidal tape core is tempered in a magnetic field, this thermal treatment ensuing in a protective gas atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6072208
Abstract: In a dynamic random access memory (DRAM), a step produced by forming a stacked capacitor can be prevented from being produced and increased, thereby facilitating the patterning of an upper layer (wiring, etc.). Further, the pattern layout can be made with freedom and the DRAM itself can be highly integrated. This dynamic random access memory is constructed such that stacked capacitors (C.sub.1), (C.sub.2) composed of accumulation node electrodes (7a), (7b), a dielectric layer (8) and a sub-plate electrode (9) are formed on the under layers of a switching element (Tr1) composed of a word line (4a) and two source-drain regions (5a), (5b) and a switching element (Tr2) composed of a word line (4b) and two source-drain regions (5a), (5c).

  • Patent number: 5907311
Abstract: A liquid crystal cell and a plasma cell are layered together with a dielectric sheet in between. Data electrodes (column electrodes) are constructed to form parallel columns on the underside of an upper substrate in a display cell. Discharge channels filled with ionizable gas are constructed in parallel rows in a plasma cell. Row electrodes are constructed on the upperside of a lower substrate corresponding to each of the discharge channels, and reference electrodes to which reference voltages are applied, are constructed inside each of the discharge channels. Data voltages are applied to the data electrodes and drive pulses are applied to the row electrodes. The polarities of the data voltages are changed so as to be opposite to the polarities of the drive pulses with respect to the reference voltages. Each time the polarities of the drive pulses are inverted, plasma discharges are generated in the discharge channel corresponding to the row electrodes to which the drive pulses are applied.
