Abstract: A night light design which allows for improved functionality over those heretofore available. The basic design is flexible enough to be adapted for either indoor or outdoor use, and for various brightness levels. Particularly for outdoor use, bulbs of up to 15 watts can be used, providing an increased illumination level. All designs preferably include a light sensing element and a control circuit, wherein the light turns itself on when the ambient lighting levels fall low enough. Also, several preferred embodiments include a variable control, wherein the brightness of the night light can be continuously varied between very dim and full brightness.
Abstract: A rail alignment system for locating a first end piece and a second end piece of a first rail section and a second rail section. The rail alignment system comprises (a) a first rail alignment tool for engaging and applying force to said first rail section; and (b) a second rail alignment tool for engaging and applying force to said second rail section. The first rail alignment tool includes: (1) a planar plate for extending transversely beneath said first rail section; (2) a pair of block members, each secured to said planar plate and each defining a threaded cavity which is substantially orthogonal to said first rail section and which are aligned with one another; (3) a pair of externally threaded bolts, each adapted for engaging one of said threaded cavities of said pair of block members; and (4) a pair of contoured rail engagement end pieces, each secured to an inner terminating portion of said pair of externally threaded bolts for engaging said first rail section.

Abstract: The present invention is for an improved rotating control system for use on tilt rotor aircraft and helicopters. Existing rotating control systems usually include a non-rotating swashplate and a rotating swashplate, both swashplates having a plurality of clevises, each clevis formed by at least two clevis arms. The clevis arms are disposed in a clevis plane, and an axis of symmetry is located in the clevis plane between the clevis arms. The devises on the non-rotating swashplate are adapted to pivotally receive an actuator rod which has a rod axis defined by the actuator rod. The apparatus of the present invention includes an anti-rotation clip that is disposed between the clevis arms of each clevis of the non-rotating swashplate. The anti-rotation clip is either of unitary or multi-piece construction. The anti-rotation clip includes a wall portion and at least one restraining member that protrudes inwardly from the wall portion.

Abstract: A lighting fixture suitable for use in a bathroom, vanity, or similar application includes an extended fixture with multiple light bulbs. The light bulbs are spaced from the fixture in such a manner that the bulbs do not lie on a single line. The back plate may have a curving portion for supporting the bulbs in a non-linear manner, or individual spacers of different lengths may be used to project the bulbs different distances from a planar backplate.
Abstract: A ceiling fan support system is provided which contains multiple, perimeter downrods connected between a ceiling fan housing and supporting structure attached to a ceiling. The perimeter rods may provide some or all of the supporting structure to suspend the ceiling fan housing. In order to accommodate sloped ceilings, the perimeter downrods may be made of adjustable length.
Abstract: A removable hoisting apparatus for use on an aircraft to hoist cargo and people into the aircraft. The removable hoisting apparatus comprises a base member, a telescoping mast member, a boom member, and a hoist assembly carried by the boom member. The base member is of negligible weight and is adapted for attachment to the floor of the aircraft. The telescoping mast has a bottom portion and a top portion. The bottom portion is releasably connected to the base member, and the top portion is releasably connected to the bottom portion. The top portion extends through an opening in the aircraft. A shoulder member is connected to the top portion, and a boom member is connected to the shoulder member. A rigid link member connects the boom member to the aircraft. The removable hoisting apparatus can be quickly removed from the aircraft by releasing only three quick-release fasteners, leaving only the base member attached to the aircraft.
