  • Patent number: 7380009
Abstract: When a request for a web page is received on a server from a client, the web page is returned to the client with a client program (e.g., an applet) and a program tag. The program tag specifies a session identifier corresponding to the client. Once the web page is loaded, a start method is initiated on the client to cause a (start) message to be sent to the server. The start message causes any running disconnection timers associated with the client to be canceled. When the web page is later terminated on the client, a stop method is initiated and a (stop) message is sent to the server. The stop message causes the server to initiate a disconnection timer for closing the session with the client. If the stop method is not canceled within a predetermined amount of time, the client is disconnected from the server.

  • Patent number: 7375526
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus for reducing acoustic noise in a magnetic resonance imaging device including passive shielding located outside the actively shielded gradient winding elements in order to reduce the magnitude of fields that spread outside the gradient coil assembly in unwanted directions and interact with the magnet cryostat or other metallic magnet parts, inducing eddy currents that cause consequent acoustic noise. The passive shielding elements are conducting layers located on the outer radius of the cylindrical gradient coil assembly in a cylindrical magnet system, conducting layers located at the ends of the gradient coil assembly in a cylindrical magnet system, and conducting layers located inside the actively shielded gradient winding inner elements in a cylindrical magnet system. The passive shielding could also be located on separate structures that are vibrationally isolated from the magnet cryostat.

  • Patent number: 7376610
Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented investment management process particularly in the field of high yield corporate bond financial market consists of five distinct process phases. In a first phase, the financial market under evaluation is researched in order to obtain all the market business information necessary for the following market evaluation phases. The next three phases, as marked by the dotted line, are all part of the central evaluation process that will be described in more detail hereinafter. The first evaluation phase is a filtering phase where the market business information obtained from the previous research phase are filtered in order to separate useful information from non-useful information. In a following phase, the filtered business information at first is input to a subscoring process and thereafter to a scoring process. Finally, the obtained evaluation results (scores) are presented to a user in form of a recommendation displayed on a monitor or printed in paper format.

  • Patent number: 7376638
Abstract: A system and method for analyzing predicate usage and proposing solutions to improve query performance. The system comprises a system for collecting performance statistics for database queries; an aggregation system that organizes the performance statistics based on predicate combinations used in the database queries; and an evaluation system that compares the performances of queries having similar predicate combinations. Further features include a problem identification system that identifies a predicate, which when added to a query, results in a low performing query, and a solution proposal system that automatically proposes a solution to address the low performing query.

  • Patent number: 7376852
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for controlling power change for a semiconductor module. Specifically, under the present invention power is applied to, or removed from a semiconductor module between a lower power state such as a zero power, nap or sleep state and a full power state over a predetermined time period. This allows the rate of movement and strain rate of the thermal interface material within the semiconductor module to be controlled, thus preserving the reliability of the material. Typically, the power is changed over time between the lower power state and the full power state in a linear fashion or incrementally.

  • Patent number: 7373310
Abstract: A rule-based search engine is used in conjunction with an automated network-based workflow system (which in turn is interfaced with an organizational database) to efficiently determine service routing requests from users/clients. The search engine employs search techniques adapted for use with multi-dimensional tree structures that define the matrix organizational model. Workflow services are preferably represented by roles that can be used to represent workflow actors in the workflow routing rules. These roles are preferably evaluated at run-time to best match recipients depending on the organization context from which the routing request is made.

  • Patent number: 7368302
Abstract: Methods and a system are disclosed for correcting a non-planar region during fabrication of a semiconductor product on a wafer. The invention separates an exposure of at least a portion of a fill pattern on a resist from a product exposure so that the fill pattern can be adjusted to correct the non-planar region. In one embodiment, a determination of whether a fill pattern for a metal level above the non-planar region includes a portion over the non-planar region is made. Where a portion of the fill pattern is to be placed over the non-planar region, a pattern factor for exposure of the portion of the fill pattern on a resist is adjusted to correct the non-planar region.

  • Patent number: 7367154
Abstract: The present invention provides a force applying lever assembly for use with a foothold type trap. The force applying lever assembly has at least one force applying lever that is coupled to the biasing device or spring of the trap. The at least one force applying lever is also pivotally coupled to the base of the trap, allowing it to pivot with respect to the base. The trap's anchor, which is usually coupled to the base of the trap, is instead coupled to the end of the force applying lever opposite the base. When the ensnared animal pulls against the anchored trap, the pulling causes the force applying lever to pivot with respect to the base so as to increase the biasing force applied by the biasing device on the jaws. This additional biasing force on the jaws tightens the grip on the ensnared animal, which prevents it from escaping and discourages it from struggling.

  • Patent number: 7363313
Abstract: Method, system, and program product for rebasing an application. The application is analyzed to identify the database components that require remapping to a new database. These components are remapped to utilize the new database and/or a new interface layer that utilizes the new database. The components can be remapped by rewriting the component and/or redirecting the component. However, the configuration that is used for the data in memory is maintained, thereby reducing the number of components in the application that require modification.

  • Patent number: 7362570
Abstract: The invention provides a water-proof housing for an electronic equipment. The water-proof housing, according to the invention, has built-in drainage to cope with penetration of liquid into the electronic equipment. The water-proof housing essentially includes a main body with a plurality of ventilation holes formed thereon. The housing also includes a plurality of drainpipes which each corresponds to one of the ventilation holes and a collecting hopper is formed at one end thereof. The drainpipes are mounted on an inner wall of the main body such that each of the collecting hoppers is disposed underneath the corresponding ventilation hole. Once liquid flows into the interior of the electronic equipment through the ventilation holes, the liquid is collected by the collecting hoppers and drained out of the electronic equipment from an outlet.

  • Patent number: 7363509
Abstract: Under the present invention, a customized contract is created based on the needs of the parties and is then stored within a secure computer infrastructure. Security within the computer infrastructure is typically provided through encryption such as 128 bit encryption. Moreover, all actions taken with respect to the contract (e.g., approval, execution, etc.) occur within the infrastructure and are recorded so that a record can be provided. Any party taking action will first be authenticated before access to the infrastructure is granted. In order for the contract to be electronically executed, both the originating contract partner and the receiving contract partner must first deliberately approve the contract. Once approval has been obtained, the contract can be electronically executed by both parties. After execution is complete, a final image of the contract is generated that includes the electronic signatures and the date of execution.

  • Patent number: 7363601
Abstract: Methods, systems and program products are disclosed for selectively scaling an integrated circuit (IC) design: by layer, by unit, or by ground rule, or a combination of these. The selective scaling technique can be applied in a feedback loop with the manufacturing system with process and yield feedback, during the life of a design, to increase yield in early processes in such a way that hierarchy is preserved. The invention removes the need to involve designers in improving yield where new technologies such as maskless fabrication are implemented.
