Abstract: A troll line depressor includes a pair of triangular wings with a dihedral angle of about 100 degrees therebetween. A rigid bridle connected between the upper and lower ends of the depressor provides a sliding connection for a ring at the end of a towing line, so that the depressor normally develops hydrodynanmic forces to depress the end of the towing line, but can tilt backward to an inoperative position when a fish strikes, or forward to an inoperative position if the depressor engages river bottom debris.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for producing boneless chicken breasts maximizes the amount of meat retained by the breast when the wing is removed from the breast, by permitting the wing to rotate with respect to the breast as the final wing cut is made while the breast and wing are maintained in tension. The apparatus automatically debones the breasts and performs the wings cuts, on a continuous series of chicken front halves.
Abstract: A mouthpiece is designed to facilitate direct human consumption of liquid from a narrow-necked container, such as a bottle having a mouth defined by a peripheral rim that in use is enclosed by the lips of the consumer. The mouthpiece comprises a tubular body that engages the peripheral rim of the bottle mouth and forms an annular seal therewith and an adjoining extension that defines an annular wall projecting axially to surround the container adjacent its mouth. Vent passages in the mouthpiece communicate between an interior outlet receiving a tube for opening to the interior of the container, and an exterior inlet located on the surface of the mouthpiece at a position spaced from said free end by a distance sufficient to ensure that in use the inlet will not be blocked by the lips of the consumer and air can pass therethrough to the interior of the container to replace the liquid being consumed.
Abstract: A series of educational blocks for teaching children the correct sounds of each letter of the English language as well as rudimentry words. Touching or depressing a surface of the block provided with particular indicia thereon would produce a sound corresponding to this indicia. This sound is produced utilizing a solid state memory and an associated speech synthesizer.

Abstract: A parallel RC network sensitive to the impedance of a gas discharge device is provided in the electronic ballast of this device along with a series connected inductive coil. As the impedance through the device changes, the oscillator frequency of the ballast would change accordingly and the voltage through the coil would change, thereby changing the impedance in such a manner as to insure that the voltage through the gas discharge device remains unchanged. The ballast would include a switch-mode, push-pull oscillator including a pair of emitter-resistors and a pair of fast diodes.
Abstract: A convenient method and simple apparatus for cutting one or more layers of planar material, such as fabric into uniform, geometric shapes, involving the use of relatively small, thin geometrically shaped magnetic templates. The method and apparatus is particularly useful in preparing fabric pieces to be sewn together in order to produce a patchwork quilt.
Abstract: The invention relates to a machine for harvesting berries, and particularly, grapes, comprising a straddling frame (1) on which are mounted two sets of shaking elements (4a, 4b), each on one side of the median plane of the machine, said shaking elements consisting of rods curved in an approximately horizontal plane and exhibiting their convexity in the direction of said median plane. Each end of each rod is jointed to a support mounted to pivot around an approximately vertical pin, drive members (12) being provided to move, in phase, the supports of rods located on the same side of the median plane so as to move the rods parallel to themselves, and to move, in phase opposition, the supports of the rods located on one of the sides of the median plane relative to the supports of the rods located on the other side of the median plane so that, when one of the sets of rods approaches the median plane, the other set of rods moves away from it.
Abstract: An apparatus to clean or depollute surfaces or layers of water. The apparatus has at least one channel (12) which withdraws a stream of water at the front of the apparatus and discharges the water at the rear of the apparatus after cleaning or depollution. The water can be discharged through two conduits or tunnels (18), which diverge relative to each other. The flow of the stream of water through the channel (12) is caused by at least one propellor (20) driven by a motor which can be hydraulic.

Abstract: In a commercial ice cube making device, an accelerated freezing and harvest cycle is effected by employing parallel adjacent rectangular channel ways which are individually directly connected to intake and outflow manifolds, thereby producing even absorption and dispersion. In addition, melting of the cubes during the short harvest cycle takes place on one side only thereby reducing the problem of stored ice cubes freezing and sticking together. The ice cubes are made in novel nylon ice trays with combed partitions which allow ice to form from the vertically disposed evaporator outwards on both of its sides. The device advantageously produces large quantities of symmetrical non-sticky ice cubes more quickly and efficiently than the devices known in the prior art.

Abstract: A control system for power tongs comprises two tongs torque limiters, one of which limits tongs torque to a very low (hand-tight) level; the other limits torque at full makeup to, for example, 2000 ft. lb. The hand-tight torque limiter is manually or automatically disabled after the hand-tight level is reached. The system enables the operator to verify that the threads are properly engaged before applying full torque to the connection. The tongs have a very high reduction ratio, so that torque rises very slowly and can be more accurately controlled.
