  • Patent number: 7077739
Abstract: The high velocity and high dilution exhaust system uses a centrifugal fan provided with a tapered nozzle. The nozzle compresses the airstream exiting the fan to increase back pressure and velocity. The air flow from the fan enters a stack having a venturi further increasing the velocity and decreasing the pressure. The decrease in pressure causes a suction, allowing the introduction of ambient air to mix with and dilute the output of the fan. The total discharge from the exhaust stack has a high velocity resulting in a plume height and effective height of the exhaust before dispersion occurs.

  • Patent number: 6182358
Abstract: A process is provided in which an initial substrate has a ceramic layer with metal layers on either side. At least one of the metal layers projects above one edge of the ceramic layer. The projecting sub-area is deformed so that the metal layer on the edge is disposed a distance from the surface of the ceramic layer, and along the edge in one border area with a stipulated width is separated from the ceramic layer.

  • Patent number: 5944310
Abstract: Apparatus for shuffling or handling cards including a chamber in which a main stack of cards are supported, a loading station for holding a secondary stack of cards, and card separating mechanism for separating cards at a series of positions along the main stack to allow the introduction of cards from the secondary stack into the main stack at those positions. The separating means grips cards at the series of positions along the stack and lifts those cards to define spaces in the main stack for introduction of cards from the secondary stack.

  • Patent number: 5390656
Abstract: A pneumatic stabilizer for use with a bow, rifle, gun or any other instrument that produces destructive vibrational energy. The stabilizer includes a gas spring having weights secured thereto and structure for releasably attaching the stabilizer to an instrument. When the stabilizer is properly adjusted, it has similar vibrational frequency characteristics similar to the instrument such that the vibrational energy of the instrument is absorbed by the stabilizer.
