Patent number: 4837410Abstract: A push-button switch operates by depression of a push-button to move a movable contact into engagement with respective fixed contacts. The push-button when depressed rotates a roller through a predetermined angle by means of interengaging ratchet-type teeth on the push-button and roller respectively. A two-arm lever engages an indented outer surface of the roller, so that forward or reverse pivotal movements of the lever are effected whenever the push-button is depressed. The lever operates the movable contact. The roller also carries a segmented colored disc so that alternating colors are associated with the push-button to represent the respective movable contact positions.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 1988Date of Patent: June 6, 1989Assignee: Mecanismos Auxiliares Industriales, SA -M.A.I.S.A.Inventor: Manuel F. Patent number: 4835471Abstract: A measuring device for determining the content of magnetizable substances, particularly ferrite and martensite, in a sample, the device including an exciting coil which preferably has an iron core, for producing a magnetic field to be applied to the sample, and further including an evaluation circuit and a display device for displaying measurement quantities proportional to the content of magnetizable substances in the sample. To improve measurement accuracy, the exciting coil is a part of a tuned resonant oscillation circuit. The inductance of the exciting coil can be changed by the magnetic field induced in the sample as a result of the applied magnetic field, whereby the change in inductance results in a change in the resonant frequency of the oscillation circuit.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 1987Date of Patent: May 30, 1989Assignee: Boehler Ges.m.b.H.Inventor: Paul Kutilin

Patent number: 4813263Abstract: A forging machine having rams arranged in the form of a cross carry respective tools adjustable transversely to the ram axes and partly overlapping one another, so that a closed pass can be formed for any size of the forging pass. To adjust the tools transversely, each tool is carried on a respective crosspiece which can be clamped against the ram end or can be released and moved transversely on the ram. The clamping and releasing and the adjustment movement are all effected by a rotary tie rod extending through the crosspiece and through the ram, having one end coupled to the crosspiece for clamping it and moving it transversely to the ram, and the other end coupled to a clamping mechanism and to a rotary adjustment drive.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1987Date of Patent: March 21, 1989Assignee: SMS Hasenclever Maschinenfabrik GmbHInventors: Hans A. Schubert, Klaus Schulze

Patent number: 4810777Abstract: A new class of broad spectrum antibiotic polypeptides termed "Magainin" have been described. These peptides have a molecular weight of about 2500 or less, are highly water soluble, non-cytolyic to animal cells including red-blood cells and are amphiphilic.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 1987Date of Patent: March 7, 1989Assignee: The United States of America as represented by the Department of Health and Human ServicesInventor: Michael A. Patent number: 4747362Abstract: A dock and pool device stowable in a space in a ship comprises a collapsible pool portion (21) with a frame (24-27), which when erected stretches out nets, defining the bottom and four sides of the pool. The frame can consist of two rectangular frame sections (24) forming the longitudinal sides, two transverse frame sections (25) hinged to the longitudinal sides and forming the short sides, said sections each comprising two halves (25a) hingedly interconnected along a vertical joint at the longitudinal centerline, and a least two section halves (26) forming the bottom of the frame. These can be hinged together along or at a symmetrical distance from the longitudinal centerline of the pool and be hinged to the respective adjacent longitudinal side section (24). The frame has also hoist means by means of which the pool (21) can be hoisted off and into the ship and for erecting and collapsing the pool.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 1987Date of Patent: May 31, 1988Inventors: Fred Olsen, Lennart Apelstrand

Patent number: 4713899Abstract: A display element is disclosed which can be used for displaying product information forwardly of an apertured product display shelf and which can be used selectively as a price channel flag for securing in a price channel in a supermarket and the like. The element is formed from a blank of plastic sheet having rectangular display and attachment panels with a transverse fold line extending therebetween. The attachment panel has a slit which forms a depressable arrow-shaped head for secruing in an aperture of the shelf adjacent the forward edge. Sections of the attachment panel adjacent the head engage the upper surface of the shelf thereby precluding upward tilting of the element. The display panel is folded down in front of the shelf and can be provided with an information display card or label.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1986Date of Patent: December 22, 1987Inventor: Jacob Fast

Patent number: 4680215Abstract: In order to produce a biaxially orientated mesh structure using a single axis draw, a plastics material starting material has parallel, side-by-side main zones separated by lines of holes or depressions; the starting material is drawn parallel to the main zones, stretching the main zones into continuous, orientated main strands 4 interconnected by smaller cross-section strands 6 which have been formed from the zones between holes or depressions in each line, and have been orientated at right angles to the direction of drawing by the effect of the main zones decreasing in width as they were stretched. The mesh structure is suitable for cross-lamination.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 1986Date of Patent: July 14, 1987Assignee: P.L.G. Research LimitedInventor: Frank B. Mercer

Patent number: 4640896Abstract: A method and device for determining the clotting time for a sample of whole blood. A sample of whole blood is placed in a cuvette (12) which is centrifuged in a centrifuge (11) to mix the blood sample with a coagulant in the cuvette (12) and simultaneously spin out the cells in the blood. The optical density of a part of the sample which is cleared of cells by the centrifugation is monitored using a light source (14) and a light detector (15) and the time measured for optical density indicative of clotting to be reached by a timer (25).Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1983Date of Patent: February 3, 1987Assignee: Unisearch LimitedInventors: Peter C.
