Abstract: A device and method for coupling a battery to a mobile terminal. The device comprises a main body having a main board on which circuit components are mounted, a battery receiving portion disposed on the main body for receiving the battery, and an input/output connector mounted on a side of the battery receiving portion for supplying electrical power to the main body. A power terminal is disposed on a first side face of the battery for detachably coupling to the input/output connector. The power terminal being arranged to electrically connect to the input/output connector as the power terminal is moved in a longitudinal direction toward the input/output connector. The input/output connector provides an elastic restorative force to the first side face of the battery for maintaining electrical contact between the power terminal and the input/output connector upon a shift in position of the battery within the battery receiving portion.

Abstract: An energy recovery circuit of the present invention includes a panel capacitor, a source capacitor for recovering and charging the voltage of the panel capacitor and re-providing the charged voltage to the panel capacitor, a reference voltage supply unit for supplying a discharge sustain voltage to the panel capacitor, an inductor disposed between the source capacitor and the panel capacitor, a first switch disposed between the inductor and the source capacitor, a second switch disposed between the inductor and the reference voltage supply unit, a third switch disposed between the inductor and the source capacitor, and a fourth switch connected between the inductor and a base potential, wherein the reference voltage supply unit is disposed so as to be connected with the inductor, for supplying any one of a rising pulse having a predetermined slope and a reference voltage having a predetermined voltage value.

Abstract: In the data transmission method of an HSDPA system according to the present invention, a transmitter transmits Data Blocks each composed of one or more data units originated from a same logical channel, and a receiver receives the Data Block through a HS-DSCH and distributes the Data Block to a predetermined reordering buffer. Since each Data Block is composed of the MAC-d PDUs originated from the same logical channel, it is possible to monitor the in-sequence delivery of the data units, resulting in reduction of undesirable queuing delay caused by logical channel multiplexing.

The battery contact system of the wireless terminal includes a body having a printed circuit board, a battery compartment, a battery detachably accommodated in the battery compartment, and at least one connection unit for transmitting battery power the body. The connection unit is an insulated elastic body protruding from the battery compartment and encompassing flexible conductors within the insulated elastic body.

Abstract: A method for measuring the traffic volume of a transport channel in a mobile communication system is disclosed, including receiving a buffer occupancy for each of a set of logical channels mapped to a transport channel, measuring a traffic volume of the transport channel based on the received buffer occupancies, and reporting the measured traffic volume of the transport channel to an upper layer. The measured traffic volume may be reported to the upper layer when the volume is out of a given range or a timer set to a given period has expired. Using this method, a radio resource control layer can perform a dynamic radio bearer reconfiguration using the measurement results received from a medium access control layer of the communication system.

Abstract: A packet data transmitting method and mobile communication system using the same enables transmission of common ACK/NACK information from each sector of a base station to a user entity in softer handover. The method includes receiving via at least one of the plurality of sectors a data packet from the mobile terminal, the data packet being correspondingly received for each of the at least one of the plurality of sectors; combining the correspondingly received data packets, to obtain a signal having a highest signal-to-noise ratio; decoding the value obtained by the combining; determining a transmission status of the data packet according to the decoding; and transmitting to the mobile terminal a common ACK/NACK signal including one of a common ACK signal and a common NACK signal according to the determining, the common ACK/NACK signal being transmitted via each of the at least one sector.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for identifying a point-to-multipoint service. When a plurality of point-to-multipoint services are multiplexed to one transport channel, a temporary service identifier (TSI) is defined and inserted into a MAC PDU header so that the plurality of point-to-multipoint services can be individually identified. Thus, overhead is reduced and multiple services having a different quality of service (QoS) or multiple streams of different QoS in the same service can be handled and provided to a mobile terminal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a microphone switching apparatus and method for a mobile communication terminal having a camcorder function, and in particular, a mobile communication terminal having a rotational camera so as to record more distinct and clearer sound, by disposing a microphone on the front and rear side of a mobile communication terminal and operating a microphone at a position corresponding to the direction of a subject (an object to be recorded) and a sound source. In a related art mobile communication terminal, a volume of voice/sound from a subject is recorded undesirably low when a subject is located in front direction of a mobile communication terminal and a camera is directed toward the subject, since it is recorded through the microphone located in the rear side of the terminal, wherein the microphone for voice communication is used for recording voice/sound when performing a camcorder function.

Abstract: Disclosed is a channel estimator adopting masking. In a channel estimator using a CIR (channel impulse response) estimating value, the present invention includes a CIR masking unit removing a noise included in the CIR estimating value. Accordingly, the present invention is capable of filtering noises resulting from finiteness of the PN sequence used in finding the cross correlator, thereby enabling to enhance accuracy for the CIR estimating value. And, the enhanced accuracy for the CIR estimating value enables to improve tracking performance to the time variable channel of the frequency domain equalizer using the channel estimator.
