Abstract: A database server application program is provided that is configured to provide a programmable interface into a database application by way of database services uniform resource locators (URLs). A database services URL utilized by the database application can be updated programmatically by program code executing within or under control of the database server application program. A macro action for use in conjunction with a database server application that provides functionality for displaying a database object, such as a form or report, in-place in a Web browser is also disclosed.

Abstract: When a user interface cursor hovers over a user interface item, a determination is made as to whether the user interface item has an associated screentip. If the user interface item has an associated screentip, text associated with the screentip is identified, a translated text string is located for the text string, and the translated text string is displayed in the screentip. If the user interface item does not have an associated screentip, a determination is made as to whether the user interface item contains a text string. If so, a determination is made as to whether a translated text string is available that corresponds to the text in the user interface item. If so, the translated text string is displayed in a screentip for the user interface item.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods provide for a blended wing passenger or cargo aircraft. Aspects of the disclosure provide an aircraft having wings with spars having a thickness at the wing root corresponding to a height of the payload space within the fuselage to which the wings are attached. The wing spars within the wings on each side of the aircraft may each be spliced into an aircraft frame that is part of the fuselage. The wing thickness provides mounting locations for aircraft engines and other components within the wing and passing through the wing spars. With this mid-wing configuration, the fuselage provides support for the various loads experienced by the wings without the use of a conventional structural wing box.

Abstract: An apparatus and method are provided for receiving and displaying cellular television content. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes a wireless communication device for establishing a connection to a wireless telecommunications network and for receiving video content over the connection. The apparatus includes a processor for receiving the cellular television content and the television signal. The processor generates a signal for display on a video display screen from the television signal and the video content. A video display screen is also provided in the apparatus for displaying the signal. The apparatus may also include a remote control interface and a remote control device that includes a keypad for establishing a wireless telephone call through the apparatus over the wireless telecommunications network.

Abstract: A current key is received at a current arrival time at a computer. An index in an array corresponding to the current key is determined using a hash function. A previous key and a previous arrival time are retrieved from the array at the index. The array is transformed by replacing the previous key and the previous arrival time with the current key and the current arrival time in the array at the index. The previous key and the previous arrival time are inserted into a nearest eligible sequential index in the array.

Abstract: A method (400) for creating and managing a distribution list can include creating a distribution list (410) at a voicemail system. The distribution list can include at least one recipient and at least one language preference for one or more of the at least one recipients. The method can further include selecting the created distribution list (504) and recording an audio message (508) to be sent to the at least one recipient. Translating the audio message (510) into the at least one language preference for one or more of the at least one recipients thereby creating at least one translated audio message and sending the at least one translated audio message (512) to the at least one recipient.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for improving call quality and coverage of cells within a mobile wireless communication network. Such improvements can be accomplished by adjusting various radio access network parameters. The adjustments may be made at the cell level or at the neighbor level. An iterative process can periodically collect key performance indicator (KPI) statistics from the mobile wireless network. System improvements may derive from one or more rules applied in parallel. Each rule can have a unique combination of minimum or maximum KPI thresholds. System issues may be identified when a cell correlates with one or more of the rules which may then suggest one or more parameter changes to reduce the identified system issue. System capacity policies may be provided as limits to the coverage and call quality triggers.

Abstract: A content purchaser can freely and fluidly zoom into and out of content at a continuous range of resolutions. The price for the viewed content is calculated using a price function, such as a binary price function, a discrete price function, or a continuous price function. Payment can be made automatically without interrupting the process of viewing the content. If payment cannot be made automatically, various user interfaces may be provided that are integrated with the viewing process for allowing a would-be purchaser to buy the content at any desired resolution.

Abstract: Concepts and technologies described herein provide for securing a connector shell to a circuit board using a separate connector hat with elongated mounting posts. According to one aspect of the disclosure provided herein, a connector hat includes a one-piece body with a top surface and a pair of mounting posts. The mounting posts extend downwards from opposing side edges of the top surface. The posts are of sufficient length to extend beyond a bottom surface of a connector shell to which the connector hat is configured to attach, and through a bottom surface of an associated circuit board. The two-piece connector assembly design utilizing the connector hat with mounting posts allows the mounting posts to be manufactured at any desirable length to facilitate installation of the connector assembly to a circuit board.

Abstract: Technologies for load balancing among neighboring cells of a mobile wireless communication network can reduce traffic congestion and improve network system capacity. Load balancing can be accomplished by adjusting various radio access network parameters. Such adjustments may be made at the cell level or at the neighboring cell level. The adjustments can be applied iteratively in response to various collected operational statistics. The adjustments can adapt cell size and cell shape as well as adapt handover to maximize system resource and hardware utilization. An iterative process of optimization can periodically collect performance statistics and network configuration from a mobile wireless network. The collected information can be periodically analyzed to determine parameter adjustments. Configuring additional capacity from the communication network can prevent or substantially delay the acquisition of additional hardware resources to mitigate system capacity issues.

Abstract: This description provides tools for lazy evaluation of geometric definitions of objects within procedural programming environments. Computer-based methods provided by these tools may parse input program code that includes statements that are syntactically consistent with a procedural programming language. These statements may also include defined functions that are not syntactically consistent with the procedural programming language. The defined functions may be associated with a given function that is defined according to the procedural programming language. The given function may relate to a geometric design of an object. The methods may identify inputs and outputs to this given function, and may build a dependency graph that relates this given function to other functions, based on the inputs and/or outputs of the given function. The methods may delay evaluating the given function until a triggering event occurs, at which time the methods may evaluate the given function to produce the output.

Abstract: A vehicle barrier control device for limiting vehicular access to an area. The vehicle barrier control device includes a barrier system having an active position and a passive position and a control system adapted to move the barrier system between the active position and the passive position. In the active position, the barrier system prevents vehicles from passing through. In the passive position, vehicles are permitted to pass through. The barrier system includes a buttress, movable barrier plate, traffic control arm and a traffic indicating light. The control system comprises a traffic arm motor, programmable logic controller, variable frequency drive, and actuator. The barrier system is temporarily bolted to a sub-frame set in concrete. An actuator motor mounted to an actuator reduces the need for typical hydraulic components. Using a variable speed and reversible actuator motor the present invention provides high-speed movements of the barrier plate for emergency conditions.

Abstract: A wire pulling grip easy and reliably grips wire for pulling the same through a conduit or the like. The grip has cams which maintain contact with the wire even when tension is not applied and regardless of the orientation of the grip, significantly reducing the likelihood that the connection with the wire is lost. The cams are selectively releasable to allow the wire to be easily removed from the grip.

Abstract: Product issues are identified through an analysis of forum data stored in a forum database. Forum threads are identified within the forum data and clustered together by grouping related forum threads. Once the forum threads have been clustered, the clustered forum threads can be analyzed to identify product issues. Once the product issues have been identified, steps may be taken in an attempt to resolve the identified issues.

Abstract: Traffic notification systems include a location determination system that is configured to determine a geographic location of a subscriber and an automated traffic notification system that is configured to automatically transmit a traffic notification message that is based on the geographic location of the subscriber to a wireless.

When a browse tab is selected, the ribbon area displays information and does not include any user interface controls for performing commands. When the browse tab is selected, a vertical scroll bar is displayed adjacent to the ribbon area and the editing surface. When the vertical scroll bar is used, the ribbon area and the editing surface are both scrolled. When a page tab or a contextual tab is selected, the ribbon area displays user interface controls for performing commands. When a page tab or a contextual tab is selected, a vertical scroll bar is displayed adjacent to the editing surface but not adjacent to the ribbon area. When the vertical scroll bar is used, the contents of the editing surface are scrolled but the ribbon area is not scrolled.

Abstract: A system, method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium are provided for completing e-commerce transactions over a P2P communications channel. According to one method, a secure P2P communications channel is established between a buyer node and a seller node. A request to perform an e-commerce transaction is transmitted from the buyer node to the seller node. In response to the request, a third-party clearinghouse is added to the P2P communications channel. Once the clearinghouse has been added to the P2P communications channel, a request is transmitted to the clearinghouse over the P2P communications channel to charge an account associated with the buyer node. The clearinghouse charges an account associated with the buyer node for the purchase. The clearinghouse also transmits a confirmation over the P2P communications channel indicating that the charge has been completed.

Abstract: Human computation games are provided wherein a player is shown a page, such as a web page. The player is then asked to provide one or more terms that are intended to cause a search engine to return the page in response to performing a query using the terms. The terms provided by the player during game play are then collected, stored, and utilized to improve the performance of the search engine.

Abstract: A system and method for managing sponsorships by a sponsor, in which the party requesting the sponsorship requests to use content owned and protected by the sponsor, such as trademarks, logos, and copyrighted material. An embodiment of the method involves receiving, at a computer network site, a request for sponsorship from a requester and responding to the request by sending either an approval or a rejection. If an approval is sent, the method further involves providing the requestor with access to content of the sponsor through the site. As part of providing this access, the method can involve requiring the requestor to accept an agreement posted on the site. The method can also include monitoring the requestor's actual use of the content.

Abstract: Technologies are described herein for building a knowledgebase of associated time-based events and displaying the associations between the events to a user. A chronology knowledgebase application is implemented that maintains a knowledgebase of facts and events that captures both the details of each event and the associations between them. The associated events can be readily retrieved by users of the chronology knowledgebase application and displayed in a way that makes apparent the temporal and causal relationship between the associated events.
