  • Patent number: 7111331
Abstract: A toilet seat assembly 10 includes a toilet seat 12 having a seat skin 14 defining the exterior surfaces thereof and a seat core 16 disposed within and surrounded by the seat skin 14 and a cover 18 having a cover skin 20 defining the exterior surfaces thereof and a cover core 22 disposed within and surrounded by the cover skin 20. The assembly is characterized by the cores 16, 22 each comprising a waste material. The waste material may be a single polymer wasted in the process of making other products. Alternatively or in combination therewith, combining a plurality of different materials (including different polymers) from different sources may be employed to formulate the waste material.

  • Patent number: 6790537
Abstract: Composite elements have the following layer structure: (i) from 2 to 20 mm of metal, (ii) from 10 to 300 mm of polyisocyanate polyaddition products obtainable by reacting (a) isocyanates with (b) compounds which are reactive toward isocyanates in the presence of from 1 to 50% by volume, based on the volume of the polyisocyanate polyaddition products, of at least one gas (c) and also, if desired, (d) catalysts and/or (f) auxiliaries and/or additives, (iii) from 2 to 20 mm of metal.

  • Patent number: 6484981
Abstract: A temporary load support system including a permanent portion comprising a stud having a stem and crosspiece, and a removable load support member comprising a cavity, configured to receive the stud and engage the crosspiece upon relative rotation of the support member relative to the stud while the stud is received in the cavity, whereby the support member is removably attached to the stud so as to enable load transfer from the support member to the stud.

  • Patent number: 6389926
Abstract: A second conduit (30) is disposed in parallel relationship with a first conduit (28) with both extending between the legs (13) of a support bracket (12) with a first ends (32 and 34) attached to an adjustment member (16) for movement therewith along a rod (14) during the adjustment of a pedal lever (18) between the operational positions. The assembly is characterized by the second ends (45) of the conduits being attached directly to the support bracket (12) instead of being attached to the vehicle structure. A plunger (46) is slidably supported by the support bracket and a cross bar (50) is attached to the plunger (46) to extend transversely thereto. The core elements (40 and 42) are attached to the cross bar (50) on opposite sides of the plunger (46).

  • Patent number: 6383145
Abstract: A biopsy device is provided which includes a localization needle having a guide wire preloaded into the biopsy device. The device includes a stylet having a blade for transecting and separating tissue. The device further includes a cannula for cutting a core of tissue and a garrote wire mechanism for cutting a transection of tissue transverse to the core cut by the cannula. The garrote wire is activated by a trigger mechanism which is locked out by a lockout feature within the device until the garrote wire has been advanced around the core of tissue cut by the cannula.

  • Patent number: 6385508
Abstract: A method of teaching a robot a desired operating path and a lead-through teach handle assembly are disclosed. A mounting mechanism mounts the entire handle assembly to an arm of the robot. The handle assembly also includes a handle that is supported by the mounting mechanism. A robot operator utilizes the handle assembly and grasps the handle to apply an external force to move the robot arm, or the operator, without the handle assembly, directly holds a tool connected to the robot arm to apply the external force at the tool. The handle assembly is characterized by a universal joint that interconnects the handle and the mounting mechanism and that accommodates orientation changes of the handle relative to the mounting mechanism that result from translational and rotational movement of the robot arm as the user is teaching the robot. The external force applied at the tool is estimated with either a force sensor disposed on the handle assembly or by monitoring the torque of motors used to move the robot.

  • Patent number: 6011827
Abstract: A system for electronically measuring the distance that a wheel has traveled can be used on a tractor-trailer combination vehicle to independently monitor mileages for the tractor and the trailer. An axle on the tractor and an axle on the trailer each has a hub odometer system which can electronically measure and store mileages for its respective axle. The system is mounted on a wheel and includes a signal generating device and a semiconductor unit. The signal generating device generates an electrical signal proportional to the number of wheel revolutions and the semiconductor unit receives, counts, and stores the electrical signals. The electrical signals are relayed to an output device. The system can also be used on other types of vehicle.
