  • Patent number: 8128497
Abstract: To output sounds generated by multiple objects disposed in a virtual space in as easy a manner as possible while giving live feelings, a storage unit (202) of a game machine (201) stores information on objects of a first type and a second type which move in the virtual space. A basic sound acquiring unit (203) acquires basic sound information corresponding to the total number of the objects. An imitation sound acquiring unit (204) acquires imitation sound information imitating a sound generated by an object of the first type from its position in the virtual space. A mixing output unit (205) mixes and outputs the basic sound information and the imitation sound information. An input receiving unit (206) receives an instruction input from the user.

  • Patent number: 8118675
Abstract: A system and method for relaying race information related to a plurality of races, such as horse or greyhound races, typically held at racetracks. The system includes a computer system that receives and stores current race information from the plurality of races. The system also includes a remote device coupled to the computer system. A user operating the remote device can view race information and place wagers on the races. The method begins by the computer system sending initial race information to the remote device. As current race information is received from the racetracks, the computer system compares current race information with the initial race information sent to the remote device. The computer system then sends updated race information to the remote device. This updated race information includes only race information that has changed since the initial race information was sent from the computer system to the remote device.

  • Patent number: 8119717
Abstract: A coating composition includes a latex component and an agent for replacing all or part of the volatile coalescing solvent. The agent has the following formula: X(AO)nH wherein X is a C6 to C16 group selected from the group of linear, chains, branched chains, aromatic rings, and combinations thereof, AO is an alkyleneoxy group selected from the group of ethyleneoxy groups, 1,2-propyleneoxy groups, 1,2-butyleneoxy groups, and combinations thereof, and n is from 3 to 14. The coating composition has a VOC content of less than or equal to 150 g/L. The agent for replacing the volatile coalescing solvent contributes little or nothing to a total VOC level in the coating composition. As such, the coating composition may be formulated to have a VOC content of less than or equal to 150 g/L, which meets or exceeds standards for VOC content in interior and exterior flat and non-flat paints for all sheen ranges, while providing equivalent or superior properties to those provided by volatile coalescing solvents.

  • Patent number: 8114391
Abstract: (1) The invention provides a composition for hair that imparts to the hair such properties as moist feeling, the feel of smoothness, thick-film touch, and ease of combing. These properties are long lasting and do not disappear after repeated brushing. Furthermore, neither in a moist state during washing, nor in a dry state, the hair produces the feel of unpleasant touch. The hair treated with the composition of the invention does to become sticky after drying. (2) The shampoo compositions of the invention demonstrate superb foamability and washability. The feel of smoothness and ease of combing are not lost even after the repeated hair wash. The composition of the invention comprises a specific block copolymer of polyorganosiloxane and polyoxyalkylene used in the amount of 0.01 to 10 mass %.

  • Patent number: 8113960
Abstract: Provided is an introducing system in which a server device introduces users of terminal devices to each other while motivating the users to join the system by presenting appropriate information to them during a wait time before they receive introduction. When a terminal device requests introduction of another terminal device during a time slot (303) shifted from a time period (304) between times ti?1 and ti by a margin time period (305), the server device assigns an introduction time ti to the terminal device. The terminal device displays the difference between the assigned introduction time and the current time on a screen as a remaining wait time and the number of terminal devices in an introduction waiting list. When the time ti comes, the server device groups terminal devices that are assigned the introduction time ti to match an introduction target, and notifies the introduction target to each terminal device.
