Abstract: The present invention provides a hinge for the elastic articulation of a temple piece to the front frame of an eyeglass frame. The hinge includes a first hinge element fastened on the front frame and shaped externally in accordance with a cam profile, a second hinge element telescopically guided on a temple piece and urged by a spring into a retracted position within the temple piece, and a lug fastened on the temple piece and acting on the cam profile.

Abstract: An article of manufacture and the method of manufacturing front pieces for eyeglass frames having formed integrally therein a nose for connecting temple pieces to the front piece of the frame which comprises cutting from a strip a semi-finished product comprising a front piece with lens rims which are provided on the outermost part of each of them, with an appendage which is integral with the corresponding rim and extends outward therefrom; the appendages are then drilled and bent so as to form corresponding box-shaped bodies, each constituting a nose for the temple piece of the eyeglasses.

Abstract: In an eyeglass frame comprising a front piece formed of two rings arranged side by side serving to hold a pair of lenses and of a bridge which connects the two rings together, two stems protruding towards the inside of the frame are fastened to the inner sides of the two rings. The two stems are provided with attachment appendages which extend downward and are adapted to be engaged, with pressure-fit, by interchangeable nose rest members of different type. The attachment appendages of the two stems are plastically deformable as a result of the introduction of the preselected nose rest members.

Abstract: A metal frame for eyeglasses, which comprises a front frame having a pair of wire rings to each of which there is fastened, on the outermost part, a nose for the hinging of a bar. Each nose consists of a pair of plates and of means for tightening one plate against the other. Each ring is cut at the place corresponding to its nose and its two end portions corresponding to the cut are shaped and held by form locking in corresponding anchoring seats defined by the clamped plates.

Abstract: The invention is for an improved hinge for pivotably connecting an eyeglass temple piece to an eyeglass frame, which permits a stable positioning of the temple piece in a folded or closed position in order to conveniently store the eyeglasses and a stable positioning of the temple piece into a normal open position for wearer use of the frame and which permits still further elastic movement of the temple piece beyond the normal open position without damage to the frames or hinge. The improved hinge includes a rod-shaped slide which is slideably mounted in a seat provided in the end portion of the temple piece and which protrudes from the seat. A hole is formed in the slide which extends coaxially in the slide over a predetermined depth from its protruding end. A slot is formed in the slide which extends longitudinally in the slide over a predetermined length from its protruding end. The predetermined length of the slot is less than the depth of the hole in the slide and the slot debouches in that hole.

Abstract: An electronic control system for controlling the operation of electromotive apparatus utilizes a capacitive sensor for sensing human touch and producing a command signal whose magnitude corresponds to the contact area of the contact. The sensor command signal is applied to an oscillator which produces a series of output width pulses having a frequency corresponding with the magnitude of the sensor command signal. A discriminator detects the trailing edge of the oscillator pulses and produces a series of fixed width pulses and an integrator produces a D.C. voltage signal corresponding to the discriminator output, which voltage signal corresponds to the area in proximity to and thereby stimulated by the human body. A comparator is employed to produce a pulse-width modulated rectangular pulse output whose duty cycle corresponds to the integrator D.C. voltage by comparing the integrator D.C. voltage with a reference triangular waveform.

Abstract: An improved flasher wherein power input to the charging circuit thereof is automatically cut-off when the device is ready to flash including a two-way switching member and an electromagnet which cooperate to form a relay for controlling current feed to the flasher circuit high-voltage capacitor as a function of the condition of charge thereof, the electromagnet being concomitantly controlled by a charge indicator as a corresponding function of the voltage present thereon.

Abstract: A camera system has a self-contained flash unit where the supply of current from a battery to the flash unit charging capacitor is discontinued immediately after the level of charge on the capacitor reaches a predetermined full charge level and charging of the capacitor is controlled as a function of existing light conditions. The shutter release member is movable from a rest position through an intermediate position to a fully depressed position. A pivotally mounted holder member which is movable in response to the movement of the shutter release member carries an electromagnet and a pivotally mounted magnet armature which moves into and out of contact with the electromagnet in response to the energization and deenergization of the electromagnet to latch and release the shutter.

Abstract: An improved electronic flasher for a camera having automatic power cut-off means for automatically cutting the power input to the charging circuit thereof when the device is ready to flash is provided with means for producing a flash sufficiently luminescent for picture taking for a finite period of time after power input thereto has been cut-off. The improved flasher includes a two-way switching means, an electromagnet and a charge indicating means, for instance, a glow lamp, which provides the operator with a positive indication when the device is suitably charged to provide a satisfactory flash. The switching means and electromagnet cooperate to form a relay for controlling current feed to a flasher circuit high-voltage capacitor as a function of the condition of charge thereof, the electromagnet being concomitantly controlled by the charge indicating means as a corresponding function of the voltage present thereon.

Abstract: A portable device for making donuts and the like which includes a batter extruder, a cooking scroll into which the extruded batter is received, a heating element underlying the scroll for heating the cooking medium introduced therein for cooking the extruded batter, a circulation pump for circulating the cooking medium in which the extruded batter is carried through the scroll, a temperature regulator for regulating the temperature of the cooking medium in the scroll, a flow controller for controlling the flow of cooking medium through the scroll, and a conveyor for evacuating the finished product from the scroll. The extruder and flow controller are synchronized, whereby a continuous stream of raw batter may be introduced into the cooking medium and cooked therein.

Abstract: An adjustable rack for books is provided which includes a pair of supports aligned in parallel spaced relationship and a pair of end plaques removably mounted on the supports. Each end plaque lies in a plane normal to the plane of the supports. One end plaque is mounted in a fixed position on a corresponding pair of ends of the supports, while the other end plaque is movably mounted on the supports relative thereto. The longitudinal body of each support includes symmetrically aligned radially extending ribs, and each support terminates in discrete pairs of legs having outwardly turned feet, which releasably engage a plaque on the support. A pair of corresponding ends of the respective supports are gusseted for the purpose of releasably fixing the position of one of the end plaques on the supports.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the improved golf tee may be elevated above the playing surface on a plurality of legs. According to another embodiment of the invention, a directional compass may be mounted in the improved tee in a plane substantially normal to the fluted cylindrical member thereof.

Abstract: A film cartridge loading type camera is provided with improved apparatus controlling camera exposure comprising a sensing slide for sensing a film speed code carried on a film cartridge, and a pivotable lever operatively connected to the sensing slide which is responsive to latching of the camera housing after mounting the film cartridge thereon. The operative connection between the pivotable lever and sensing slide is a variable function of the film speed of the cartridge load. A regulable intermediately mounted bell crank and lever arrangement integrally connected to the sensing slide control the position of a camera exposure regulating member.

Abstract: A cover plate is provided which is especially suited to an instant picture type camera employing mirror image deflection for picture taking. However, this cover plate is suited to any still camera having a substantially planar contiguously grouped optical element arrangement. The cover plate is longitudinally slidably mounted in the camera housing relative to the normal viewing position of the camera, and is reciprocally movable between a first position overlying the optical elements mounted in the camera housing and a second position vertically distal thereto.
