Abstract: A device for enabling cables to be pulled therethrough and through a cellular floor system in which the device is adapted to be mounted, for activating a service fitting at a desired location in the floor. The device is press-fittable into aligned substantially uniform-diameter holes, formed through the slab floor, after setting of the concrete therein, and through an adjacent wall of a raceway cell in an underfloor raceway cellular deck.
Abstract: A readily snap-fitted and removable cover plate, for covering the outwardly-facing or exposed surface of a fluid nozzle body flange, includes a body portion for covering such flange, and tabs projecting from segments of the body portion, movable into and out of alignment with portions of the flange defining an opening therethrough, so as to be retained in or released from engagement with the flange. Spring loading biases the cover plate projecting tabs against the flange to retain engagement of the cover plate with the flange. The cover plate exposed surface has a finish different from the finish of the exposed surface of the flange, which cover plate finish may be selected so as to coordinate with the finish of other fittings in the bathroom.
Abstract: An apparatus for integrating a plurality of audio systems, for enabling a selected one of a plurality of audio inputs to be transmitted as an audio output. It is adapted to integrate, for example, a stereo sound system and a telephone sound system, so as to be operable from a control panel adapted to be mounted in the wall of a bathtub or the like.The apparatus is adapted to enable elements of the integrated system to be shared in common by a plurality of audio inputs, so as to generate a selected audio output.The apparatus includes a voltage-controlled amplifier, for controlling the selected audio input signal with a direct-current control voltage. It further includes a plurality of parallel circuits, for generating the direct-current control voltage, one such circuit for each of the plurality of audio inputs, and elements for switching from one such circuit to another.

Abstract: An automatic electric cable passage closure and sealing device, for positioning in an opening in a structure such as a floor or wall, etc., for passing or connecting a cable or cables and cable conduits therethrough, the device automatically expanding and sealing itself and the cables and cable conduits in the structural opening on occurrence of excess heat or fire. The device comprises a hollow conducting casing to be positioned in a cable or conduit passage in the structure, said casing having novel means effectuating automatic movement and expansion of intumescing, fire retarding, means on occurrence of fire or highly elevated temperatures, said intumescing means pressing through the cables insulation and onto the conductor wires interiorly of the cables.
Abstract: A through-floor electrical outlet fitting, for insertion into structural openings of minimum diameter. The device has means for interlocking with and conforming to such openings, and to those of a wide range of thicknesses, for locking the device in the opening. Raceway means in the device separate passage therethrough and transfer of electrical service cables for at least two different electrical functions or services, such as high and low voltage insulated cables. The device has intumescent means thereon, encircling the cable raceways to conform the length thereof to varying depths of structural openings, as fire rated insulating barriers, so disposed that there is no need for a multiplicity of devices or field adjustments for varying depths of structural openings. The device and above-floor service head portions are capable of accepting maximum size low voltage communication cables, through the use of a radiator separately mounted in the service head, to allow dissipation of heat to a non-sensitive area.

Abstract: A top for initially closing a container, so as to seal same and preserve the contents thereof. The top includes a tab, selectively operable for forming an opening in the top, or for reclosing and resealing, or reopening, such opening. Such selective operation of the tab enables access to the contents of the container, or preservation of or access to the remaining contents of the container, as desired by the user.
Abstract: A trimless carpet base insert device, further provided with novel positioning and assembly features, enabling assembly and use thereof to be made in situ, by initially interlocking end members of the insert device with apertured portions of the cable raceway, thereby providing registration guide means for receiving and registering body portions of the insert device with said raceways, complementary interlocking means being provided on the body portion and end members. Thus the insert device body parts may be readily and compactly packaged and shipped and furnished to contractors and others in parts for ready assembly and installation in original building construction procedure or for subsequently positioning them as modules or units in openings formed in floors or other structural members.
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically cancelling a turn signal, responsive to displacement of the center of gravity of a vehicle such as a motorcycle in moving into a turn. The apparatus includes means for signalling the turn, means for retaining the turn signalling means in turn signalling position or releasing the turn signalling means from turn signalling position, and means for controlling the turn signal retaining means responsive to displacement of the center of gravity of the vehicle in moving into the turn.
Abstract: A novel conduit device including oppositely opening conduit sections of triangular outline, formed complementarily with and engaging and grommeting axially offset apertures in the side walls of parallel raceways, for separate passage through the raceways and the conduit device of elongated different purpose and forms of devices, such as telephone and power cables and wires, avoiding danger of crossing such wires, and assuring their passage in safety through the device and to the related apparatus.
Abstract: An apparatus for enabling movement of a binder between stored and readable positions relative to a support, including a first link, securable to the support, contoured in shape, and a second link, securable to the binder, interconnectable with the first link, contoured in shape, slidably movable along a portion of the contour of the first link which extends in two planes, such that the binder is movable therealong between stored and readable positions, to enable access to and reading of the book enclosed in the binder, such as telephone directories, and storage thereof relative to the support, such as a shelf in a telephone enclosure, in a convenient and efficient manner.

Abstract: An apparatus for enabling movement of a binder between stored and readable positions relative to a support. The apparatus includes means for enabling movement of the binder in a substantially off-horizontal plane relative to the support, and means for enabling movement of the binder in a substantially off-vertical plane relative to the support, connected to the substantially off-horizontal plane movement enabling means. The apparatus further includes means for closing the binder in the substantially off-horizontal plane relative to the support upon completion of storage of the binder. The apparatus still further includes means for stopping movement of the movable plate portion of the substantially off-horizontal movement enabling means upon completion of storage of the binder. The apparatus still further includes means for biasing the covers of the accessed binder relative to the back of the non-accessed binder upon completion of access to such binder.
