Abstract: A failure detection system for detecting an operational failure of a rack and pinion type of hydraulically controlled power steering system which employs a power cylinder to assist the driver in manipulating front wheels of the vehicle by utilizing hydraulic pressure applied to a steering gear connected to the front wheels utilizes a pressure switch for detecting a specified level of oil pressure provided by the power cylinder to be at operational failure when the vehicle speed remains higher than a specified speed for a specified time period, the pressure switch detects the specified level of hydraulic pressure.
Abstract: A dual pocket envelope according to the present invention includes a first blank having first, second and third panels, a fourth panel is glued in an overlying relation to the second panel along a generally U-shaped adhesive line to form a first pocket. The third panel is folded over the fourth panel and glued to the panel along respective side edges to provide a second pocket. The first panel includes a closure flap with adhesive coating. Each of the openings of the first and second pockets are disposed in a staggered or cascade relation so that when the closure flap is folded onto the pocket openings, the adhesive separately seals each of the pockets.

Abstract: The present invention relates to liquid compositions comprising mixtures of esters derived from a) diethylene glycol and triethylene glycol and b) benzoic or toluic acid. The freezing point of the ester mixture is below the freezing points of the constituent esters when the relative concentrations of the constituent esters are within specified limits. The invention also relates oils and lubricants containing the present liquid ester compositions as plasticizing additives.
