Abstract: The invention relates to a moisture measuring device and a method for measuring moisture of the crop material in harvesting machines. To improve the moisture measurement, the combination of the moisture measuring device with a sensor state monitoring device ensures that the manual calibration effort is reduced. According to the method disclosed in the present invention, the correction value from the measured moisture value is at least, in part, a function of the working condition of the harvesting machine.
Abstract: A steering device for self-propelled working machines. Steering cylinders are associated with each pair of wheels and a fluid which is suppliable from a valve unit to the cylinders. At least one hydraulic pump is connected to the valve unit via hydraulic lines, and the valve unit includes a respective switching unit (16, 19) incorporating on-off valves (24, 25, 25′) associated with each steering cylinder (8, 9). In the event of a fault, the on-off valves (24, 25, 25′) are automatically switchable in a manner such that the steering cylinders (8, 9) can be controlled by a single steering control unit (18).
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and apparatus for fine-adjustment of moving part sequences in big square balers and, in particular, for adjusting the insertion point of the needle bar and the timing of the feeding mechanism for the baling material. The fine-adjustment is accomplished by pivoting an angle adjustment mechanism, which is jointly pivotable with an intermediate drive shaft, at a maximum pivot angle of 10 degrees, but preferably 2 to 3 degrees in either forward or backward pivot directions.

Abstract: The invention describes a device and a method for finding an actual or a virtual reference point on mobile equipment or implement. In agricultural technology the control and mapping of working processes as a function of the instantaneous position of the equipment on the field is gaining more and more importance. With increasing precision of the navigation systems, further possible applications are opening up. As a result of the higher precision of satellite navigation systems, the changes in inclination and direction of the equipment also have an effect on the measured position of the equipment. This effect is of the order of magnitude of the precision of modern-day navigation equipment and is therefore also taken into consideration in position finding according to the invention. For this the inclinations and direction of the machine referred to a predefined neutral position are determined and also calculated when finding any reference position.

Abstract: A harvesting machine, such as a combine, has a number of laterally equispaced, side by side, rotatable augers (14) extending in a forward direction, each auger having a rotatable auger shaft (16) which is included upwardly towards the rear and an auger flight on the shaft. Inclined troughs (32) are located beneath each auger (14) with the auger flight (18) being rotatable in the trough. Inclined slots (28) are also provided which extend rearwardly from respective slot entrances at the forward end of the header, the slots being sufficiently wide to allow passage of stalks of material to be harvested but too narrow to allow passage of crop ears or other material to be collected so that the crop ears or other material to be collected can be stripped from the stalks by the action of the slots during forward movement of the header. The augers are rotated by a drive.

Abstract: A disposable blanket for one-time patient use for warming a patient includes a heating matrix associated with a sheet of plastic film and a circuit printed on one side of the sheet of plastic film, a cover, and a connecting mechanism for connecting the heating matrix with a power source. The power source for the blanket can be supplied by rechargeable batteries, a wall outlet, or a cigarette lighter. The blanket is thrown away after use.

Abstract: A storage device for storing suspenders has an upstanding, flat and substantially rigid base. At least one pair of elongate member cantilevers extend outwardly from and perpendicular to the surface of the base. The back suspender waistband button engaging stems are received by the elongate member cantilevers. One embodiment includes a hook portion mounted at the top of the base for hanging the storage device. Furthermore, the storage device may have an orifice in its base in the position directly below the hook portion for hanging a second storage device. Another embodiment may be mounted to a wall or a closet door.

Abstract: The invention relates to an operating method of an internal combustion engine. According to the method, a fuel-air mixture is rapidly combusted in order to move a piston. The fuel contained in or introduced into an occluded fresh gas is evaporated in the fresh gas, which has already been sucked into a cylinder chamber and then compressed. The fuel is then combusted and the piston is subjected to the pressure produced by the combustion gases (working cycle). After performing its working cycle, the piston ejects the waste gases from the cylinder chamber. The aim of the invention is to improve the efficiency of the internal combustion engine. To this end, the fresh gas that is compressed during the compression cycle is pressed into a first combustion chamber. The aforementioned evaporation process is then carried out in the first combustion chamber once it has been sealed off from the cylinder chamber.
Abstract: An apparatus for mounting and retaining a crop-cutting device on a pivotal feed rake of a harvesting machine includes at least two pairs of spaced web plates attached to the crop-cutting device, a plurality of load-bearing rods mounted between each pair of spaced web plates, a horizontal axle that connects the crop-cutting device and the pivotal feed rake, and at least two hydraulic cylinder units with the piston end of each unit having a pick-up hook designed to engage one of the plurality of load-bearing rods. This arrangement allows the angular position of the crop-cutting device to be adjusted in a simple manner relative to the feeder housing by pre-selecting those load-bearing rods which are to be engaged by the pick-up hooks when mounting the crop-cutting device on the feeder housing.
Abstract: A toothed selector clutch is provided to operate in a hydrostatic/mechanical, split-torque power-shift transmission comprising a four-shaft epicyclic-gearwheel transmission and an infinitely variable hydrostatic transmission arranged in parallel. The selector clutch is associated with a particular gearwheel stage and is operated to select a particular gear. Gear changes take place at synchronous speeds without loading the engaging gear during the change and without interruption of the transmission of torque from the rotating shaft to the gear being disengaged. The toothed selector clutch is a coaxial double differential clutch with a clutch carrier that is arranged in a rotationally and axially fixed manner on a clutch shaft. A double piston, which can be subjected to a pressure medium on both sides, is provided as a shift bridge and is operatively connected to the clutch carrier by toothing thereby permitting torque transmission and axial displacement.

Abstract: A powered inertia propelled screed for leveling, smoothing and spreading concrete having a power source, motor pulley, motor belt, power reduction pulley, power reduction belt, transfer axle, second power reduction pulley, continuous belt, irregular shaped pulley, arm, stationary bracket, platform, wheels, tracks, control arms and screed. The rotation of the irregular shaped pulley causes the powered inertia propelled screed to move back and forth along the tracks by inertia and so that the screed is moved back and forth along the concrete.
Abstract: A manufacturing process for establishing optimal operating limits, which are a percentage of a specified or blue-print tolerance, for the critical characteristics of manufactured products. The process begins a selection step for establishing an operating range based upon a percentage of tolerance for the critical characteristics of the manufactured product. The next step of the process is the manufacturing step including; making a determination as to whether the manufacturing apparatus is capable of operating within the proposed operating range, evaluating the fitness of the materials, manufacturing the products within the proposed operating range, and measuring the critical characteristics of the manufactured products. The process is audited to verify that product critical characteristics are maintained within the operating range. Any products whose critical characteristics are not within the operating range is rejected and is not offered for sale to customers in the relevant market.
