Patent number: 4363553Abstract: A watch mechanism incorporating two barrels each containing a spring. The springs contained in each barrel are positively connected in series to each other via a gear mechanism or a common arbor. The considerable energy available makes it possible to maintain the movement of a high frequency spring balance oscillator. The barrel rotates rapidly to drive the first pinion of the train of gears with an angular velocity approximately double relative to the normal angular velocities; the torque is approximately half (600 gr.mm) that of conventional-sized watch mechanism of comparable performance. The barrels may be mounted coaxially or in the same plane and the mechanism can be arranged to be wound manually or automatically.Type: GrantFiled: October 24, 1979Date of Patent: December 14, 1982Assignee: Compagnie des Montres Longines Francillon S.A.Inventors: Michel Thomi, Raymond Studer

Patent number: 4359174Abstract: This invention provides a table air pot for keeping hot or cold liquid comprising a wide mouth vacuum-insulated bottle housed in an outer casing and supported by upper and lower supporting means respectively fixed on the top and bottom ends of the outer casing. The lid of the table air pot includes in combination a bellow-type pump device for pumping up the liquid contained in the bottle into a drink cup while the air pot stands upright on a table, and a plug fixed to the bottom of the pump device for closing the bottle when the lid in its closed position. The tube for discharging the liquid from the bottle in response to the operation of the pump device is fixed on the upper supporting means for the bottle and is physically separated from the plug of the lid. Thus, the table air pot according to this invention can become ready to be filled with liquid by a single operation of opening the lid without need of removing the liquid tube.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 1980Date of Patent: November 16, 1982Inventors: Fukuda Ikunosuke, Jen-Csung Pan, Shiang-Fu Wang

Patent number: 4359083Abstract: The invention concerns the technical problem of providing a simple and reliable apparatus for separating castings from moulds of sand or similar material at the end of a guiding track, on which the moulds with the enclosed castings are advanced step by step towards a knocking-out station. With a view hereto the apparatus comprises a number of possibly interchangeable claws equipped with vibrators which, when moved into the row of moulds, can penetrate the mould sand and be caused to enclose and pinch the outermost casting, whereafter the claws are shifted back to the initial position in which the pair of tongs formed by the claws can open in order to deliver the casting for further treatment. The claws can be specially formed so as to retain possible core sand in the castings.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 1980Date of Patent: November 16, 1982Assignee: Dansk Industri Syndikat A/SInventor: Ole A. Patent number: 4177969Abstract: A flow control device for controlling the rate of flow of fluid passing through flexible tubing used in particular for intravenous administration sets. The device comprises a body member with a bottom and two side walls defining a tubing receiving channel. The side walls are provided with aligned bearings journalling pivot means pivotally supporting a lever having at one end a semi-circular cam-like clamping disk substantially concentric with the pivot means. One edge of the leading portion or initial tube engaging clamping surfaces of said disk is rounded with the radius of curvature of said edge decreasing continuously, forming thus a clamping surface which will, upon movement of the lever, first collapse and deform the tubing into a L-shaped cross-sectional configuration and then press together the horizontal and then continuously the vertical part of the tubing. This device provides for an easily adjustable and unvarying flow rate.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 1977Date of Patent: December 11, 1979Inventor: Paul Sieber-Muller

Patent number: 4169603Abstract: The present invention refers to a shaft packing, in particular for use in colloid mill, with a sliding and a counter ring, one of the rings is made of a hard material having a Vickers hardness of at least 1,000 kp/mm2 and the other is made of a soft material having a hardness of 100 Shores at the most. In particular the surfaces in contact with each other are cooled and lubricated by a liquid. In order to further increase the life of said packing, the counter ring is displaceable and adjustable from the outside without being dismantled and the sliding ring holder is provided with centrifugal blades for keeping the material to be milled and milling bodies away from the contact surfaces of said rings. The construction of said shaft packings allows its use in a horizontally arranged colloid mill, wherein the material being milled flows in the direction of the widening cone.Type: GrantFiled: June 7, 1977Date of Patent: October 2, 1979Assignee: Meyer AG ZuchwilInventor: Friedrich Funk
