Abstract: A coded signaling and control system including one or more transmitters and one or more receivers, wherein both the transmitters and the receivers are coded or programmed to transmit a unique signal for actuating only selected ones of the receivers. Digital logic and switching circuits are used to generate a transmission sequence containing an initial reset burst followed by alternate shift and code bit signals terminating with a comparison and latching signal. All of the receivers in the system receive the initial reset signal and the alternate shift and data bit sequence; however, only the selected receiver programmed for the precise code being transmitted will generate a true comparison signal. Thereafter, all of the other receivers will be reset and the desired receiver will be sequenced to respond to an "off" or "on" latching signal for providing any desired output function, such as operating an alarm, controlling an associated piece of equipment, and the like.

Abstract: Improved apparatus for generating a high pressure mixture of steam and combustion gases for utilization by a steam engine or the like. The apparatus includes a combustion cylinder and an accumulator cylinder of substantially equal diameter, with both cylinders interconnected at each end by pipes of substantially equal diameter to form a closed loop. A first pair of opposed free pistons is movable toward and away from each other in the combustion cylinder and a second pair of opposed free pistons is movable toward and away from each other in the accumulator cylinder. The space between the first pair of pistons comprises a combustion chamber, while the space between the second pair of pistons comprises an operating accumulator chamber filled with a compressible fluid.

The stem of the watch, when pulled, disengages the dog from the ratchet wheel and allows correction of the display, forwards or backwards. Minute, hour or date wheels may be provided.

The differential gear for the pistons comprises a bevel gear assembly, which comprises four bevel wheels, which mesh with each other. Two of said bevel wheels are coaxial with said pistons. The other two of said bevel wheels are centered on an axis which is at right angles to the axis of the pistons. The differential gear assembly also comprises an epicyclic gear or planet wheel assembly. One of said rotary pistons is operatively coupled by a shaft to one of said coaxial bevel wheels, and the other of said coaxial bevel wheels is freely rotatable relative to said shaft but is operatively coupled to the other of said rotary pistons.
