Abstract: Multiple use universal connector designed for use in various containers having a fluid port for accessing to the content of the container or for transferring fluid into the container. The multiple use universal connector incorporates a diaphragm capable of being penetrated repeatedly by an access means such as a luer connector or a syringe having a sharp or blunt cannula for fluid communication between the content of the container and the access means. The multiple use universal connector re-seals itself after being penetrated and the access means removed therefrom.
Abstract: Method for enhancing the immune system of a patient by orally administering to the patient safflower seeds or an extract of safflower seeds in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle.
Abstract: Method and apparatus for measuring the breakaway and running forces required to move the plunger from its initial position toward the distal end of the syringe or cartridge barrel.
Abstract: Universal connector designed for use in various containers having a fluid port for access to the content of the container or for transferring fluid into the container. The universal connector incorporates an elastomeric membrane capable of being ruptured by an access means such as a luer connector or a syringe having a sharp or blunt cannula for fluid communication between the content of the container and the access means.
Abstract: Diagnostic and therapeutic compositions in the form of complexes for enhancing transmembrane transport of a diagnostic or therapeutic agent and methods for their use. The complexes contain the &agr;, &ggr;, or bis isomers of folate receptor-binding analogs of folate, a metal chelated by a ligand, and in one embodiment, a chemotherapeutic agent.

Abstract: A syringe for injecting a medical fluid into a site or withdrawing a medical fluid from a site, having a syringe barrel and an elastomeric plunger. The syringe barrel is of polymeric material having an inner surface defining a tapered cylindrical chamber extending from the proximal end to the distal end of the syringe. The distal end terminates in a tip, having a bore therethrough, to which an injection needle or a connector is attached. The proximal end receives the slidably insertable elastomeric plunger for reciprocating movement in the tapered cylindrical chamber. The elastomeric plunger is tapered from its proximal end to its distal end. The angle of taper in both the cylindrical chamber and in the elastomeric plunger is at least ⅛°.
Abstract: Algae-resistant roofing granules coated with: a first coat consisting of a fired silicate-clay matrix containing cuprous oxide and zinc sulfide to provide a slow, long-term bimetallic copper and zinc ions release; and a second coat consisting of a fired silicate-clay matrix containing a pigment.
Abstract: A self-aligning reinforced plunger rod and a non-elastomeric plastic plunger insert assembly for use with an elastomeric plunger in a cartridge or syringe barrel, the plunger rod having a first, second, third and fourth sides, a distal end with an end disc, a proximal end with a thumb rest, a central reinforcing disc at the midpoint between the end disc and the thumb rest, and a plunger rod tip integral with the end disc and having a neck portion and a ball portion for engagement with a cavity in the non-elastomeric plastic plunger insert.

Abstract: A tamper evident protector cap for a pre-filled syringe or cartridge barrel stoppered by an elastomeric closure. The protector cap securely retains the elastomeric closure during in-line processing, handling and shipment. The protector cap includes frangible brackets which on tampering break away from the protector cap evidencing that product integrity might have been jeopardized and the product should not be used.
