Abstract: A shredding/recycling paper collection system and device, wherein a cabinet-style housing with a self-locking door is adapted with a paper guard member to prevent unauthorized reach-in access and assist with directional feed, and wherein the door-mounted paper guard member and the uniquely supported collection bag hangers facilitate easy authorized access to collection bag contents, while also providing secure positioning for weighty materials within the housing.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for desalinating water combined with power generation, wherein a desalination system is used for desalinating coastal seawater and is operationally related to a power generation system, wherein such dual purpose cogeneration facility captures the heat vapor exhausted or a steam turbine generator's condenser is replaced by the desalination plant's heat exchanger enabling such captured heat energy to reduce the energy requirements of the desalination plant, and wherein brine solution being utilized by the desalination plant is circulated from and to the substrata sea water table via supply and return wells.

Abstract: A sprinkler stand for holding an oscillating sprinkler in an elevated and generally vertical orientation to provide a desired sprinkler coverage pattern, wherein a sprinkler holder holds a sprinkler, a frame elevates and supports the sprinkler holder, and a base supports the frame. Preferably, the sprinkler holder includes two tracks for engaging base members of a sprinkler, wherein the tracks allow for the repositioning of the sprinkler so as to vary the sprinkler elevation, the height of the sprinkler holder is adjustable by moving the holder along the frame, or by adding a frame extender to the frame, and the sprinkler holder may be rotated, or the frame rotatably or angularly adjusted to achieve a desired sprinkler orientation.
Abstract: A garment accessory for attachment to a hem of a garment for prevention of entrapment of the garment beneath a foot or shoe of the wearer, comprising an adhesive-backed flexible and conforming film having a low-friction surface.
Abstract: A trocar system for endoscopic surgery, cap assembly, and related methods are provided. The cap assembly includes a valve housing with an opening formed in line with an axis of the valve housing and also includes a valve positioned adjacent the opening of the valve housing. The valve body includes a proximal valve section including a valve ring positioned within the valve housing, and a distal valve section extending axially from the proximal valve section. The distal valve section includes a valve extension having a proximal and distal end portions, and a substantially conically shaped medial portion connected to and extending therebetween, wherein a plurality of friction-reduction features, preferably tear-drop shaped knobs, are disposed proximate the distal end portion and extending a distance in the medial portion of the valve.

Abstract: A trocar system for endoscopic surgery, cap assembly, and related methods are provided. The cap assembly includes a housing with an opening formed in line with an axis of the housing. The cap assembly also includes a variable opening flexible sealing gland having a stack of valve body sections each including a valve extension extending from a valve ring and having a valve opening and a slit extending between a valve opening and the valve ring. The combination of the individual valve body sections forms a substantially conically shaped iris diaphragm portion of the sealing gland. The iris is positioned to individually and separately receive elongate tools so that when any one of the elongate tools is positioned through the valve opening, a seal is maintained between peripheries of the seal gland surrounding the iris and outer peripheries of the inserted elongate tool.
Abstract: An improved truck bed seating apparatus, wherein a frame is removably attached to a truck bed for supporting seating thereon, and wherein the design allows for easy removal and installation of the frame assembly and provides for a minimal use of space when the apparatus is removed.
