  • Patent number: 7312196
Abstract: The present invention is concerned with a pharmaceutical formulation comprising an amylin agonist and optionally a buffer, a tonicifier or stabilizer, and a preservative in a container, for example, a vial, prefilled cartridge, prefilled syringe or disposable pen. This formulation may be in liquid, gel, solid or powdered form for delivery, for example, via nasal, pulmonary, oral, sublingual, buccal, transdermal, or parenteral routes. Formulation with biocompatible polymers and release modifiers, such as sugars, can facilitate controlled release after injection, minimizing the number of administrations to a patient. These formulations maintain stability upon storage under refrigerated or room temperature conditions. Such formulations can be further combined with insulin for administration to a patient.

  • Patent number: 6640404
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an indexing tool turret assembly and method for operating the same. The indexing tool turret assembly includes a tool turret assembly rotatably supported on the machine tool, an indexing assembly for selectively rotating the tool turret assembly to a desired location. The indexing assembly includes a locking assembly to prevent rotation of the tool turret assembly during operation of either a stationary tool assembly or live tool assembly located on the tool turret assembly. A cushioning bearing assembly is provided for selectively separating the tool turret assembly from the locking mechanism during an indexing operation. The cushioning bearing assembly provides a slight lift to separate the tool turret assembly from the locking mechanism to reduce friction and other potential damages forces between these components.

  • Patent number: 6634706
Abstract: A mechanism for a rocking reclining chair is caused to have enhanced ease of use, to be more stable, and to provide enhance comfort. The mechanism includes a locking linkage arranged to engage the base of the chair for locking of the claim against rocking when the ottoman of the chair is extended. The locking linkage preferably includes two locking members arranged to make locking engagement with the base of the claims at locations rearward of the locations where the chair's rocker cams are supported.

  • Patent number: 6300929
Abstract: A flat panel display device includes a polarizer, a polarized light reflection layer made of a cholesteric liquid crystal layer, a fixed retarder layer to delay an incident light phase by &lgr;/4, and a variable retarder layer to shift an incident light phase by &lgr;/2 in response to applied voltages. The fixed and variable retarder layers are held between the polarizer and the polarized light reflection layer. A retardation plate and a second polarizer are disposed behind the polarized light reflection layer to transform incident light into a circularly polarized light component of which rotation direction is the same as that of the circularly polarized light selectively reflected from the polarized light reflection layer. The flat panel display device is used as reflection type and semi-transmission type displays with high light efficiency of light utilization and high brightness as well as low power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6182524
Abstract: A hand lever apparatus is mountable on a working machine for controlling operation of the working machine. The hand lever apparatus includes a main lever and a magnitude-magnifying mechanism. The magnitude-magnifying mechanism includes a pivot pin, a lever member pivotal about the pivot pin, a pulley, and a connecting cable. The lever member has a shorter arm portion and a longer arm portion, which opposes the shorter arm portion and is operatively connected to a throttle cable of a throttle valve of the working machine. The shorter arm portion is operatively connected to the main lever via the connecting cable so that actuation of the finger-manipulable portion pivots the lever member about the pivot pin and causes the longer arm portion to pull the throttle cable away from the throttle valve and open the throttle valve of the working machine from a minimum-opening idling state.
