  • Patent number: 7946074
Abstract: A sighting system for a fire arm, e.g. machine gun includes front and rear sight assemblies. The rear sight assembly has a pivotal L-shaped member having two different sized apertures. Pivotal and windage lateral movements of the L-shaped member are achieved via a threaded shaft and a knob held in place via a detent screw/plunger assembly. The L-shaped member is secured in place via the detent plunger spring assembly. The front sight assembly is configured for windage lateral movement and has a sight post that is raised and lowered and secured in place via detent plunger spring assemblies. Another embodiment includes a rear sight assembly which may be configured for windage lateral movement. Detent plunger spring assemblies secure an aperture member of the rear sight assembly and the front sight assembly during operation of the fire arm, and the front sight assembly is configured for elevational and windage lateral movements.

  • Patent number: 7806776
Abstract: A replaceable cue tip assembly is provided to enable the easy and quick replacement of tip pads of cue sticks. The cue tip assembly includes a tip ferrule that is attachable to a cue stick shaft or to conventional shaft ferrule. It also includes a tip pad holder to which a tip pad is to be fixed. The tip pad holder has a non-threaded conical surface that seats upon a mating non-threaded conical surface of the tip ferrule. The outside diameter of the tip ferrule may be less than local thickness of the cue shaft under certain conditions. Various means of connecting the tip pad holder and the tip ferrule together are disclosed. Cue sticks having the replaceable cue tip assemblies are also disclosed as are tip pad holder tools for use in attaching and removing the tip pad holders.

  • Patent number: 7780011
Abstract: Mobile metal scrap recovery apparatuses and methods of operating them to remove scrap metal from scrap metal-contaminated soil are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, a mobile metal scrap recovery apparatus comprises first and second wheeled components, each of which is road transportable. The first wheeled component comprises a unit for screening the metal scrap-contaminated soil into at least a coarser fraction and a finer fraction. The second wheeled component comprises a magnet separator, an eddy current separator, and a manual picking station. Methods for conducting the business of scrap metal recovery are also disclosed. Such business methods involve the use of a mobile metal scrap recovery apparatus to remove scrap metal from scrap metal-contaminated soil.

  • Patent number: 7517492
Abstract: Methods for sintering aluminum powder comprise providing aluminum powder and heating the aluminum powder in a nitrogen atmosphere containing a partial pressure of water vapor in the range of about 0.001 kPa to about 0.020 kPa to sinter the aluminum powder to a transverse rupture strength of at least about 13.8 MPa. The aluminum powder is not pressed together by a mechanical force that substantially deforms particles of said aluminum powder either prior to or during the step of heating. Articles comprising sintered aluminum powder. The sintered aluminum powder has a transverse rupture strength of at least about 13.8 MPa. The microstructure of the sintered aluminum powder contains no compositional concentration gradients indicative of the use of a sintering aid and no evidence of particle deformation having occurred by an application of a mechanical force prior to or during the sintering of the aluminum powder.
