Abstract: A universal four-channel multimedia computer speaker system is connectable to audio sub-system control circuits (e.g., “sound cards”) of both the four-channel type and the conventional two-channel (stereo) type. With the audio sub-system control circuit being of a four-channel type, the universal four-channel audio system functions as a conventional multimedia computer four-channel surround sound audio system. With a four audio channel multimedia computer work and the audio sub-system control circuit being of a conventional two-channel (stereo) type, the universal four-channel audio system is configured to provide one pair of wide-band speakers (e.g., the front) with distinct audio playback according to respective right-front and left-front audio channels in a four or two audio channel multimedia computer work such as a game, music, etc.

Abstract: A support structure for use primarily as a lightweight, portable, strong, and fracture resistant tent support and the like, and method for making thereof. The support structure includes a fiberglass core and a resilient outer layer of material that is at least 0.2 millimeters thick. Preferably, the outer layer is made of polyethylene that is between 0.5 to 0.6 millimeters thick, inclusive. In a preferred embodiment, the support structure is curved to conform with the shape of the tent it supports, thereby preventing the support structure from springing back when inadvertently released from the tent. More preferably, the support member includes a plurality of elongate curved sections that are detachably secured together to form the support member.

Abstract: A collapsible, soft-sided organizer has a rigid, water proof base with fabric side walls and lid. A removable internal frame provides support for a cutting board, which also functions as a stable work surface. The lid includes a gusset to define a gear loft and water basin. A plurality of movable internal dividers facilitates the creation of smaller internal compartments.

Abstract: Apparatus for relating pain and activity experienced by a patient comprises: pain transducing means for allowing a patient to select any one pain level from a predetermined number of pain levels and for producing a pain level signal indicative of the selected level; activity transducing means responsive to the pain level signal for measuring a level of a parameter of a physical activity of the patient near the time corresponding to the selection of the pain level and for producing an activity parameter level signal indicative of the measured level of the parameter; and relating means responsive to the pain level signal and the activity parameter level signal for characterizing the activity of the patient corresponding to the selected level of pain to be one activity level of a predetermined number of predefined activity levels and for producing a signal indicative of the characterized level of activity and the corresponding pain level.

Abstract: A press machine includes a frame, a first crankshaft rotated by a driving source, a second crankshaft connected with a slide, and a connection mechanism provided with a pair of levers connected with each other so as to carry out their bending-stretching motion as the first crankshaft is rotated. One lever has a first pivot and is connected, through the first pivot, with a position adjusting device for adjusting the position of the first pivot in the vertical or horizontal direction. The other lever has a second pivot and is connected, through the second pivot, with the eccentric shaft portion of the second crankshaft. The slide is connected with other eccentric shaft portion of the second crankshaft.

Abstract: The configuration and arrangement of the instrument greatly facilitate safe placement of the instrument and an associated endotracheal tube. The instrument provides a path for guiding movement of the endotracheal tube in a manner that permits the distal end of the tube to move along the instrument directly toward the glottis. The instrument includes a passage into which a telescope is mounted. The arrangement of the guide path and passageway ensure that the advancing end of the tube remains observable as it is advanced to the glottis. Suction is provided to remove fluid etc that would otherwise obscure the view of the tube.

Abstract: A rectifying antenna circuit for a passive RF transponder comprising a series resonant circuit of an antenna, a voltage rectifier circuit including a diode and a capacitance shunting the diode, the capacitance providing a primary voltage amplification role and the diode providing a rectification and a voltage amplification role.
