Abstract: A camber control system varies the camber of a wheel of a motor vehicle. The camber control system includes a detector for detecting a direction in which front wheels are steered, a controller for producing a control signal in response to a signal produced by the detector, an actuator operable in response to the control signal from the controller, and a rear wheel camber varying mechanism actuatable by the actuator for varying the camber of rear wheels. The controller is arranged such that the control signal produced thereby enables the actuator to operate the rear wheel camber varying mechanism so that the camber of outer and inner rear wheels with respect to a motor vehicle turning direction corresponding to the direction in which the front wheels are steered, is rendered negative and positive, respectively.
Abstract: A continuously variable hydraulic transmission operatively interconnects a transmission mechanism and a clutch mechanism. The hydraulic transmission includes an oil pump having an inlet port and an outlet port and a transmission ratio control member such as a swash plate which is displaceable for varying the transmission ratio between a higher-speed position, a lower-speed position, and a neutral position, an oil motor having an inlet port and an outlet port and drivable by the oil pump, a first oil passage hydraulically interconnecting the outlet port of the oil pump and the inlet port of the oil motor, a second oil passage hydraulically interconnecting the inlet port of the oil pump and the outlet port of the oil motor, a housing accommodating the oil pump, the oil motor, the first oil passage, and the second oil passage, and an oil passage control unit for selectively bringing the first oil passage into and out of hydraulic communication with the second oil passage.
Abstract: An arcuate measuring device for measuring distances along a spherical body such as a bowling ball. The device includes a curved guide member including measurement marking thereon. A measurement device is slidably retained on the guide member. Removable pins are provided to permit measuring between two finger holes in a bowling ball. An aperture is provided in the measurement device to permit marking a distance on the ball.
Abstract: An automatic liquid sampling and flow measuring apparatus provided as a unitary structure within a case, and capable of collecting liquid samples at selected intervals, measuring flow rate through a channel at selected intervals, and collecting and storing sampling and flow rate data for later retrieval. The apparatus is provided with its own self-contained microprocessor for automatically controlling sampling operations, calculating flow rate on the basis of signals from a sensor, and storing data relating to sample collection and flow rate measurement. The stored data can be called up on a display of the apparatus, or can be transferred via a portable transfer unit to an external output device, such as a printer capable of producing a hard copy of the data.

Abstract: A device for sensing the presence of liquids or other substances and warning of potential hazards. The device includes a mat which is constructed of metallized sheets. This mat may be cut to any size or shape on site. A monitor device is electrically connected to the mat and monitors a change in capacitance or resistance of the mat. Such a change is an indication of the presence of unwanted substace. The monitoring device may then either activate an alarm or turn off any electrical device as deemed necessary.
Abstract: A saddle type, off-road vehicle, comprising a frame, an engine supported by the frame, at least one front wheel, a pair of rear wheels disposed on opposite sides of the frame, a seat supported on an upper portion of the frame, and a storage receptacle provided above the rear frame. The storage receptacle includes an element for reinforcing the strength and rigidity of an inner surface thereof and a partition for dividing the receptacle into a plurality of storage sections.
Abstract: A steering system for a motor vehicle having front road wheels and rear road wheels which are steerable includes a rear wheel steering mechanism for steering the rear road wheels based on a vehicle speed and a front wheel steered angle. The rear wheel steering mechanism, has a correcting mechanism fo varying a rear wheel steering force dependent on the vehicle speed.
Abstract: A keyboard in which a stopper portion of an upper limit stopper of a black key detours an upper limit stopper of an adjoining white key so as to lie away from the black key side by side with a stopper portion of the upper limit stopper of the white key.
Abstract: A keyboard apparatus for an electronic keyboard musical instrument comprising a wooden key which is swingably supported by a fulcrum on a metallic keyboard chassis and which is returned from its depressed position by returning means, a precisely constructed balance rail of metal or plastic is provided on the metallic keyboard chassis, and the wooden key is directly supported by the balance rail.
Abstract: A motor vehicle transmission system, for use on a motorcycle, for example, includes a sensor for detecting a direction in which a shift pedal is operated for an upshift or a downshift, a torque direction sensor for detecting a direction in which the torque is transmitted between an engine and a drive wheel, and an engine output power control assembly responsive to output signals from the sensors for temporarily increasing or reducing the output power of the engine, so that a transmission mechanism can be shifted without disengagement of a clutch.
Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing the cover for a keyboard of a musical instrument including a rack and pinion mechanism to provide smooth sliding of the cover member. A rack and a pinion guide groove are integrally formed on each side of the musical instrument. A rotatable shaft includes at each end a pinion which engages with the rack. The pinion members are slidingly engaged on the shaft so that the guide members at each end of the shaft may be easily inserted into the guide grooves provided on the sides of the mechanism.
Abstract: A saddle type, off-road vehicle is disclosed which comprises a frame, an engine mounted to the frame, a pair of rear wheels disposed on opposite sides of the frame, at least one front wheel, a seat supported on an upper portion of the frame, and a steering handle positioned forwardly of the seat. Each of the rear wheels has a larger diameter and a smaller lateral width than each of the front wheels. Additionally, the vehicle includes a relatively large storage receptacle is provided on the frame.
Abstract: A pattern for molding a die having a shaping panel and an attachment panel is produced by drawing a first rib figure extending from the shaping panel of the die based on configuration figure data which are entered manually or through data transfer into a computer-aided design system based on the configuration of a product, drawing a second rib figure extending from the attachment panel of the die in view of a relationship to a press machine which incorporates the die, and joining the first and second rib figures to each other thereby drawing an entire die figure.
Abstract: A saddle type, off-road vehicle, comprising a frame, an engine supported on the frame, at least one front wheel, a pair of rear wheels disposed on opposite sides of the frame, and a storage receptacle provided on the vehicle having at least a portion thereof positioned above the rear frame. The storage receptacle is positioned rearwardly of the major part of the frame and above the rear axle.
Abstract: A crawler-propelled truck includes a chassis frame assembly, an engine mounted on the chassis frame assembly and having a substantially vertical crankshaft, a gear transmission case having an upper portion coupled to the engine and housing a gear transmission operatively coupled to the engine, drive wheels supported on a lower portion of the gear transmission case and rotatable by the engine through the gear transmission, driven wheels rotatably supported on the chassis frame assembly forwardly of the drive wheels, crawlers trained around the drive and driven wheels, and a load carrying table mounted on the chassis frame assembly above the crawlers.
Abstract: A composition including ethylene glycol and friction particles mixed together in predetermined proportions. The composition is used to aid in the removal of headed fasteners. The composition may also be used in place of a lock washer. The composition is most effective when used with fasteners made of soft metals.
