Abstract: The invention comprises a belt installation tool for installing a belt on a pulley. The tool comprises a plurality of segments. The segments and the headpiece are connected by a flexible connector with a headpiece attached to one end of the string of segments. Each segment comprises a belt bearing surface and a lip for engaging a pulley rim, thereby conforming to the curve of the pulley rim. The belt bearing surface describes a tapered surface. A surface normal to the belt bearing surface on each segment urges a belt from the tool onto a pulley as the pulley is turned.
Abstract: A closure for a container having an opening, comprising a baffle having at one end a surface for blocking communication with the opening, an orifice at a top end of the baffle for communicating with the opening.
Abstract: A roller skate has a light housed in a forward tip recess of a slab of synthetic material interposed between a boot and the roller truck. A lighted toggling push-button switch that espouses the back contour of the heel, can be activated by taping the back of the heel against the floor or any other stationary structure. The light comprises a battery compartment occupying the deepest area of the recess. A lens contoured to blend with the outline of the sole tip can be releasably snapped against the frontal opening of the battery compartment. A bulb-mounting assembly is held sandwiched between the lens and the battery compartment. The lights in the contoured tip lens and heel switch can be seen from either side of the skate.
Abstract: The invention comprises a tensioner having an inner race rotation idler pulley. The pulley having a web and a belt bearing surface connected to the web. The web is attached to an inner race of a bearing by a fastener. The pulley may be stamped out of sheet metal or of spun metal and may have a central hole for alignment with the central axis of the bearing. The outer race of the bearing is mounted to a pivot arm. The pivot arm comprises as least two pivot points for pivotably attaching the pivot arm to a mounting plate and a biasing member. The pivot points are contained within a periphery of the pulley. The biasing member urges the pivot arm and pulley against a belt to be tensioned.
Abstract: A biopsy forceps jaw device and method of assembling, comprising pivotally mounting to a single flat support having a single aperture a threaded, self-centering proximal end and a pointed distal end, an integrally connected non-metallic jaw assembly having a cutting plane. The integrally connected non-metallic jaw assembly pivots about a common axis within the single aperture allowing for rotation of the integrally connected non-metallic jaw assembly within the cutting plane. A pair of actuating wires for moving the integrally connected jaw non-metallic assembly from a closed position to an open position is attached to the integrally connected non-metallic jaw assembly. The threaded self-centering proximal end of single flat support and the pair of actuating wires are inserted into a tubular member. The integrally connected non-metallic jaw assembly and the single flat support are centered within the tubular member through the threaded self-centering proximal end.
Abstract: A directed graph is logically zoomed, whereby the appearance of a node directly related to a target node can be exaggerated and the structure of an entire graph can be readily understood. A directed graph is used in which hierarchical nodes are connected by arcs. In the directed graph, a node that has a predetermined logical relationship with a selected node is displayed differently than are the other nodes. For example, a displayed node logically near the selected node is large, while a displayed node logically distant is small, or the node logically near the selected node is moved closer to the selected node.

Abstract: A panel, paneling system and method of installing the paneling system. The panel includes a tongue and groove for engaging adjacent panels, a profile having cross members for reinforcement and the ability to attach the panel or paneling system to a wall.
Abstract: A table game provides for realistic simulation of known athletes' performance in the context of a virtual game predicated upon the career statistics of those athletes, uses card carrying along one of their edges, space-proportioned zones representing the percentage of occurrence of each possible outcome of a player's move during that player's career. A random number generator drives a display of a series of individually selectable points or locations that are matched to one of the zones in order to determine the outcome of a virtual move. The game is particularly adapted to the simulation of baseball, cricket, basketball, or golf competitions.
Abstract: A device for preparing and injecting a polymeric bone cement under sterile, isobaric and isovolumic conditions includes a cylindrical vessel holding a volume of polymeric powder and a disk agitator mounted on a shaft passing through an aperture in a proximal end wall of the vessel and extending beyond the agitator though a delivery port in an opposite wall of the vessel. A piston can be selectively coupled to the disk in order to inject the contents of the vessel through the outlet port. The device can be packaged in a sterilized, evacuated envelope. The cement is ejected by breaking off a distal, tubular section of the shaft and mounting the broken off section over an external bushing surrounding the outlet port and moving the piston toward the outlet port to expel the contents of vessel.
Abstract: Improved compositions for treating psoriasis, including a body wash composition, spray composition and cream composition and the use of these novel compositions in a system or method of treating psoriasis.
Abstract: The invention comprises a belt installation tool for installing a flexible belt on a pulley. On one side, the radius of the tool is substantially equivalent to the radius of a pulley flange. The bearing surface on this side of the tool stretches the belt and guides the belt onto the pulley. To avoid damaging the belt, the radius of the tool and the pulley flange should be substantially equal over a substantial length of the pulley. Centric to this radius, a hole is provided to accommodate a single-end socket that projects through the tool. The socket engages a crankshaft bolt, hence, the belt installation tool is centered on the pulley along the socket centerline. The tool and pulley are then turned with a ratchet attached to the socket. The tool comprises a belt bearing surface having a variable radius that allows a belt to be stretched to a proper radius without abrupt radius changes, which could damage a belt.
Abstract: The system includes an access assembly for communicating with the gas filled insulating units, flexible electrodes for insertion through the access assembly to the gas and for sensing the concentration of the gas, and a meter for measuring and displaying the concentration of the gas that is sensed through the electrodes.
Abstract: A method for treating malignant cells such as leukemia or chronic myeloid leukemia, in a mammal, comprising of administering to the mammal a leukemia therapeutically effective amount of reactive oxygen intermediates. A method of treating cancer in a mammal with cancer and modulating the mammal's immune system, comprising of administering to the mammal in need thereof a cancer therapeutically effective amount of reactive oxygen intermediates. A method of treating leukemia in a mammal with leukemia, comprising of administering to the mammal in need thereof a leukemia therapeutically effective amount of ozone into the mammal's blood and a leukemia therapeutically effective amount of ether lipids.
Abstract: A window system using air loops to completely isolate air seals from water seals. As a result of the separation of air seals from water seals, the window system can tolerate imperfect seals anywhere in the system while maintaining high resistance to water infiltration.
Abstract: An anti-coupling device for a semi-trailer to prevent the coupling of a semi-trailer's kingpin to a tractor's fifth wheel comprising of a housing assembly mounted within a specific radius of the kingpin having a half sphere for engaging the tractor's fifth wheel when the half sphere is locked in an active position by a locking assembly. The anti-coupling device may move between an active and a passive position by pneumatic valve system.
Abstract: An articulated device for protecting the knee as well as above-the-knee and below-the-knee leg portions comprises a first part shaped and dimensioned to cup the knee and cradle a small section of the leg above it. A second part forming a greave for the below-the-knee portion of the leg is slidingly connected to a longitudinal plate which is hinged at its top to the lower edge of the first part. An adjustable elastomeric strap biases the second part away from the first part, allowing the two parts to move axially in relation to one another during flexion and extension of the knee, while keeping the device tautly against the leg and knee at all times.
