  • Patent number: 7708504
Abstract: A pneumatic nozzle capable of removing dry solid debris, liquids, and mixtures of solid and liquid waste is provided. The pneumatic nozzle uses a pressurized gas stream to push materials through the nozzle. The force of a pressurized gas stream provides a partial vacuum to allow material to be introduced into an opening of a nozzle via a slight suction force. Thereafter, individual particles and materials introduced into the pneumatic nozzle are pushed by a stream of pressurized gas through the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 7666807
Abstract: A porous wall hollow glass microsphere is provided having a diameter range of between 1 to 200 microns, a density of between 1.0 to 2.0 gm/cc, a porous-wall structure having wall openings defining an average pore size of between 10 to 1000 angstroms, and which contains therein a hydrogen storage material. The porous-wall structure facilitates the introduction of a hydrogen storage material into the interior of the porous wall hollow glass microsphere. In this manner, the resulting hollow glass microsphere can provide a membrane for the selective transport of hydrogen through the porous walls of the microsphere, the small pore size preventing gaseous or liquid contaminants from entering the interior of the hollow glass microsphere.

  • Patent number: 7638444
Abstract: A method for treating textile fabrics is described in which there is applied to a fabric a first treatment composition comprising a fluorochemical textile treating agent. A second treatment composition is applied to one side of the fabric such that a layer of the second treatment composition is formed on that side subsequent to a drying step. A polymeric film is then adhered to the formed layer. The process and the resulting product are characterized in that no formaldehyde of formaldehydic compounds are used in the treatment compositions or the film, and a formaldehyde scavenger is included in at least one of the treatment compositions. The resulting fabric is environmentally friendly and exhibits a high degree of soil and water resistance without sacrificing aesthetic qualities.

  • Patent number: 7634862
Abstract: An apparatus for aiding in the donning of a foot covering is provided. One embodiment of the apparatus includes a base supported by the floor with a surface oriented at an angle to the floor so that it is not parallel to the floor. The surface has an area sufficient for contact with at least a portion of the bottom of a foot of a user. A foot covering retaining member is provided and is carried by the base. The foot covering retaining member is configured for receiving a foot covering and holding open an opening of the foot covering.

  • Patent number: 7635240
Abstract: A bearing plate for use in an anchor assembly and associated method are provided. The bearing plate may have a body with a middle portion with a helical configuration about an axis. Leading and trailing portions are also included on either end of the middle portion. An upper leading portion surface may extend an angular distance from 5° to 45° about the axis. The upper leading and middle portion surfaces may extend at different rates in the axial direction per extension about the axis in order to reduce friction on the leading portion during insertion. Additionally or alternatively, the middle portion of the body may be tapered and/or included a rounded outer edge in order to reduce friction during insertion and/or to increase ease of manufacture. A method of putting together an anchor assembly in the field in order to achieve a desired bearing capacity is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7628314
Abstract: A gable top container for storing an item is provided. The gable top container has a bottom made from at least one bottom forming panel. A side is formed from at least one side forming panel that extends from the bottom. A pair of gusset panels and a pair of gable panels extend from the side. The gable panels are arranged with respect to the gusset panels to form a gable top. Each of the gable panels has a fin that defines perforations that allow for the removal of at least a portion of the fin in order to effect opening of the container from one end of the gable panels to an opposite end of the gable panels. The container may be opened in order for a fork or spoon to be used in order to remove contents therefrom.

  • Patent number: 7628663
Abstract: A marine engine exhaust system is provided. The system includes a first and second manifold. A first conduit is in fluid communication with the first manifold so that a first gas is transferred into a first gas passageway of the first conduit. The first conduit has a first cooling fluid passageway. A second conduit is in fluid communication with the second manifold so that a second gas exiting the second manifold is transferred into a second gas passageway of the second conduit. The second conduit has a second cooling fluid passageway. Cooling fluid is transferred through the first cooling fluid passageway so as to have a direction of flow through the first conduit opposite to the direction of flow of the first gas through the first gas passageway of the first conduit.

  • Patent number: 7624777
Abstract: A bag for use in sorting items is provided. The bag includes a body that at least partially defines an upper compartment and a top opening to allow access to the upper compartment. A lower compartment is at least partially defined by the body. Both the upper and lower compartments are configured for holding items therein. The body defines a selectively closable lower compartment opening to allow access to the lower compartment. A partition is disposed between the upper and lower compartments. The partition defines a partition aperture to allow the transfer of items from the upper compartment to the lower compartment based on the size and shape of the items to sort the items between the upper and lower compartments.
