  • Patent number: 4119377
Abstract: A drawer slide having a pair of parallel slide members, one of the slide members having a roller at the end opposite the roller of the one member. The slide members are channel-shaped and oppositely arranged, with the roller of one slide member received in the channel of the other slide member, the rollers carrying each respective slide member. A resilient tab is lanced out of one of the slide members adjacent an end. When the slides are installed in a drawer or cabinet, one slide member is attached to the side of a drawer while the other slide member is attached to an adjacent part of the desk or cabinet drawer opening. The tab is turned inwardly of the slide member opposite the slide member having a roller at that end. The free end of the tab is at the free end of the slide member from which it is lanced out; and, when the slide members are retracted, the tab frictionally and yieldingly engages a part of the adjacent roller to take up any play between the two slide members.

  • Patent number: 4080686
Abstract: A structural support mounting means for precision, telescoping, linear slide mechanisms of the type having an outer slide member and an inner slide member, each being held in sliding relationship by ball bearings or the like, the balls being operably disposed in a ball retainer between the inner and outer slide members. The structural support mounting means is defined by an elongated rail having oppositely disposed channels formed longitudinally therein, to structurally support and receive a pair of oppositely arranged slide mechanisms, wherein each adjacent slide member is affixed to a central, load-carrying bracket for longitudinal movement of the load secured to the bracket thereof, and wherein an elongated, structural-reinforcing bar member is adapted to be received and fixedly mounted within the inner slide member.

  • Patent number: 4071244
Abstract: A construction game that employs two separate game boards, each depicting the games' goals and providing the main support for the assemblying of the two completely independent structures. The completed structure will be a bridge abstraction, or more specifically a suspension system that is capable of being extended the length of the game board while maintaining a particular height requirement. The suspension system is achieved by a plurality of building elements that, except for duplication, are infinitely varied and diverse in their configurations and methods by which they connect one to another. The first building element connects to the game board's starting edge; and each subsequent element is connected with the former element until the construction is high enough and long enough to reach the winning line at the opposite end of the game board. The players use game money in a competitive bidding process to obtain each building element.

  • Patent number: 4055080
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved torquing apparatus that may be retrofitted in an in-line relationship, onto an existent power wrench as normally employed in mass production assembly processes. The disclosed apparatus is adapted to fit between the head of the wrench motor and the wrench attachment,so that the original torquing speed and power are transmitted to the work-piece in the same manner as originally intended. The disclosed torquing apparatus is designed to practically immune extraneous forces; so that the disclosed apparatus is particularly well adapted for wrenches employed in hand-held applications.

  • Patent number: 4054031
Abstract: A power unit having an endless belt immersed in a tank of water and disposed on upper and lower rotatable rollers in parallel alignment tightly enough to frictionally engage and rotate the pullies, there being transversely arranged and longitudinally spaced, relative to the belt, collapsible air buckets or air traps on the outwardly facing side of the belt. When operating, the belt has one part continually moving upwardly and an opposite part moving downwardly. The air buckets open downwardly and expand on the upwardly moving part of the belt; and those on the opposite downwardly moving part open upwardly in a collapsed condition. Air is pumped to a horizontally disposed discharge pipe adjacent the lower end of the belt, the pipe having openings for discharge of air into the succeeding lower open buckets to cause the buckets to be filled with air and expand the buckets so as to move buoyantly upwardly.

  • Patent number: 4040560
Abstract: An instantaneous, snap-open, four-sided carton adapted to be stacked flat and snapped open. The carton is formed from a blank of cardboard and scored to define a plurality of parallel panels forming the vertical or longitudinal sides of the carton. There are two oppositely arranged flaps which form the bottom of the carton when it is open. These bottom flaps are diagonally scored to form fold lines or troughs and one of the flaps is diagonally longer than the other. When the carton is folded flat, the respective scored flaps are folded along the scored lines so that the parts of the respective flaps at opposite sides of the score lines are folded together or onto themselves. As the opposite free corners of the flattened carton are pressed toward each other, the scored flaps open up, first forming V-shaped troughs. The trough of the shorter flap enters the trough of the longer trough and is guided inwardly by the longer trough until the carton is fully open.

  • Patent number: 4005310
Abstract: A gravy warming ladle has a bowl comprising a pair of concavo-convex shell-like upper and lower parts with the upper part received within and having its bottom spaced from the lower part to form a hollow cavity therebetween that tapers from a maximum size at the center to a minimum size at the edges and with the edges of the parts being united in a thin free edge. An electric heating element is disposed in a mass of asbestos heat storing insulation filling the cavity. A tubular handle is attached to a neck on the bowl formed by fitted-together semi-cylindrical projections on the upper and lower parts. Current supply wires extend through the handle and are connected to the heating element at the neck portion. Insulating blocks in the neck portion insure proper insulation of the connections between the wires and heating element.

  • Patent number: 3946575
Abstract: An economizer kit for attachment to the outside of a return air duct of air conditioning systems. The kit comprises what is termed a housing having end walls and side walls which define a conduit open at both ends. At one end of the conduit, there is a by-pass passage formed by two chambers that under certain operating conditions are in open communication with each other but under other operating conditions, are separated by a movable damper, one of these chambers is an inlet chamber for air from the return air duct of the air conditioning system, while the other chamber is an outlet chamber for air returning to the return air duct. At the opposite end, the conduit has a partition extending longitudinally part-way in the conduit thus deviding the conduit into an outlet passage for air from the inlet chamber and an inlet passage adapted to communicate with the outlet chamber. The outlet passage discharges to ambient atmosphere and the inlet passage receives ambient atmospheric air.
