Abstract: Alkaline earth silicate solids with a surface area in the range of about 0.1-1000 m.sup.2 /g are used to remove Ag, Pb, Zn, Ni, and Cr (III) metal ions from contaminated waste waters. The foregoing metal ions are removed from the contaminated waste waters by a process involving the steps of contacting the contaminated waste waters at a pH in the range of 4 to 6 with the alkaline earth silicate solid and thereafter filtering the alkaline earth silicate solid from the contaminated waste waters to remove the metal ions.
Abstract: An L-shaped insulating module for use on outside and inside corners as well as on door jambs in a high temperature furnace. A module of refractory fibers is constructed of one blanket folded in accordance with a particular sequence to produce a first region with a first number of layers and a second region with a second lesser number of layers which is generally half as many as the first number. One-half of each of the second layers is removed to produce an L-shaped component. A second component member is interleaved with the layers of the second region to produce an L-shaped module of uniform thickness. Mounting hardware is attached to two faces of the module for attachment to their respective wall faces. The attachment is such that it retains the two components in assembled condition.
Abstract: A returnable wrap-around beverage carrier and production blank for forming a carrier. The beverage carrier and production blank are formed in a one-piece construction and contain an inner double-walled longitudinal partition in the preferred embodiment which is formed from a partial side panel and is fixedly attached to the bottom wall of the carrier through a plurality of glue tabs. The two longitudinal partition panels of the preferred embodiment contain handle means for carrying the erected carrier after the top panel has been torn off and the bottles have been removed by the customer.
Abstract: An improved multiple article beverage package for cans or the like. The package is designed to contain a plurality of cans with the carrier being carried by a handle formed in the top panel of the carrier. An improved tear-out dispensing feature is provided in the subject package which is formed on one side of the package and is designed to be torn out of a portion of the side panels and a portion of the end closure flaps and to be folded downwardly to expose an immediately adjacent can within the package whenever the package is filled. The package also contains retaining means formed on the package for retaining the cans in the package after the tear-out dispenser feature has been opened so that only one can at a time may be removed without the remaining cans rolling out of the package by being forced out by the weight of cans positioned above the lower level of cans.
Abstract: A crown support beverage carrier of the type designed to firmly retain two bottles within the carrier by holding the bottles in a sun burst bottle neck receiving opening. The carrier comprises an elongated inverted U-shaped upper section having formed therein at least two sun burst bottle neck receiving openings with a pair of side walls being hingedly attached to the inverted U-shaped upper section and a pair of end walls being hingedly attached to the pair of side walls.
Abstract: A novel crown support carrier is disclosed having a generally one-piece construction formed in an inverted U-shaped configuration. A pair of downwardly depending legs are formed on the apex of the U-shape and tape means are applied to the lower corner portions of each leg to tightly pull the downwardly positioned legs against the bottles contained in the carrier to thereby form a tightly secured beverage carrier. The tape means has indicia designating printing positioned thereon in the form of advertising or other copy material. In the preferred embodiments, the carrier is designed for two or six bottle capacity but may be used for other combinations of bottles such as three, four, five or more than six bottles.
