    Abstract: This disclosure depicts a novel low cost, high performance color cathode ray tube of the shadow mask type. The tube has a unique envelope, on a flangeless faceplate portion of which is corner-suspended a lightweight, non-self-rigid shadow mask. This disclosure stresses lighthouse apparatus useful in screening the faceplate of such a tube.
