  • Patent number: 5871183
Abstract: New and improved strapping for a new and improved strapping system and method of strapping a golf bag to a cradle of a golf bag carrier so as to have taut strapping which is connected to the golf bag and the bag carrier and prevents rotation of the bag and strapping relative to the cradle. The strap or straps of the strapping are made of back to back woven loop tapes with napped loops of the type used for hook and loop re-closeable fasteners with the straps of the back to back tapes having loop material extending for the full length of the opposite sides of the straps and end segments on the end portions of the strap, the end segments having hooks extending outwardly from the side of the strap to enable the end portions of the straps to be doubled back to make connections to a cradle or to the shoulder strap D-ring of a golf bag or a similar independent ring type member. The connecting loops are adjustable to adjust the effective length of a strap and the tautness of the strap across the bag.

  • Patent number: 4810145
Abstract: A retractable and reusable self-locking fastening device in the form of a commercially available rivet, pin, threaded bolt or stud and the like for insertion into a sized clearance hole in a workpiece includes a shank means having tenon and pilot means which comprises two successive steps of lesser diameter formed on at least one end of the shank means. Mounted on and fixedly connected to the pilot means is a lug means having a generally truncated conical shape with one closed end and the end remote therefrom being opened to define a space in which the tenon means is disposed, and a sized aperture in the closed end to enable the lug means to be fixedly connected to the pilot means. The tapered walls of the lug means have at least four outwardly extending movable sections separated by at least four longitudinal slots defining a truncated cone configuration.

  • Patent number: 4729692
Abstract: A method and apparatus for quieting flowing waters in which a wall supported by a barge crosswise of water flow with structural members of the wall engaging an underwater obstruction to prevent the wall and barge from moving with the flow of water whereby the wall is adapted to divert water flow around the wall to provide a quiet water working area ahead of the wall. The wall comprises a plurality of gates supported by the structural members for movement relative thereto so that the wall may be raised under adverse conditions to allow the floating platform to rise with high waters with the structural members of the wall being maintained in engagement with the obstruction to prevent or aid in preventing the floating platform from moving with the flow. Under normal conditions, the floating platform will rise and fall with the wall in its water quieting position and the structural members of the wall maintaining engagement with the underwater obstructon.

  • Patent number: 3946395
Abstract: A circle arc array of element antennas is capable of receiving at all times radio signals from a source located anywhere in a wide angle or complete circle of azimuth directions, the direction of arrival of a received signal being indicated by radio receiving equipment. The source signal received by each element antenna is directed into two or three channels having different phase delays. The output signals from the first channels of all of the element antennas are combined and connected to a first radio receiver, the phase delays in the first channels being equal for all of the element antennas. The output signals from the second channels of all of the element antennas are combined and connected to the input of a second receiver, the phase delays in the second channels all being different from each other in a uniform phase progression. The phase progression corresponds to a clockwise azimuthal progression of the associated element antennas.
