The restraining device includes a lower portion which protrudes downwardly into the grooves of the truck bed and an upper portion which is a platform member affixed to the downward protrusions. By placing the platform in a position to contact the cargo to be restrained and engaging the downward protrusions into the bed grooves, movement of the cargo will be inhibited. Additional verticality for the device can be achieved by making the platform thicker or by adding at least one vertical member. The downward protrusions can be designed to engage a variety of bed-liner-groove configurations.
