    Abstract: A direct current tight coupling is provided for connecting two asynchronous high-voltage three-phase power systems which includes a three-phase full-wave static converter assembly assigned to each of the power systems to be connected, with static converter transformers and controllable semiconductors, which are controlled by a central electronic control unit so that the input-side static converter assembly functions as a rectifier and the output-side static converter assembly as an inverter. The controllable semiconductors of a functional group are mounted atop each other forming identical static converter towers. The towers are connected together at the same pole on the d.c. side and on the three-phase side with the assigned Wye- and Delta-connected secondary sides of the static converter transformers. Each of the full-wave semiconductor subassemblies assigned to the four secondary sides of the static converter transformers form a static converter tower.

    Abstract: Partial discharges are to be detected within a metal-encapsulated, compressed-gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear using a capacitive voltage divider. The measurement device used for this purpose contains an electrode which is dish-shaped and is inserted flush in an opening of the capsule. A measurement cable leading to the display or measurement unit is built up coaxially and connected with a terminal element which is a supporting component and contains the electrode and the edge of the opening in the capsule. In addition, the terminal includes an outer connecting element in the shape of a hollow cone which extends to the edge of the opening and an inner connecting element in the shape of a cone that extends to the electrode, which are coaxially arranged, the ratio of whose diameters d.sub.a /d.sub.i is constant, and which have the characteristic impedance of the measuring cable.

    Abstract: The invention concerns a mounting arrangement for an arc-quenching chute cover upon a base of a switching device. For that purpose it includes resilient clamping elements, such as a quick-release fastener which guides a coil spring and a rubber bushing. The anchoring of the quick-release fastener in the base is achieved by twisting a pin into a widened region. When excess pressures arise inside the arc-quenching chute cover, the rubber bushing is compressed and has a damping effect on the shaft portion of the quick-release fastener passing through it.

    Abstract: A method and a device for monitoring instantaneous electrical parameters of a power distribution system under load utilizing digital control means. An analog signal equivalent to such a parameter is sensed and rated down for processing by solid state components. This signal is converted into a binary coded digital signal having n digits. A plurality of digital signals is sampled and squared values with a format of 2n digits are derived from each sample. The squared values of one sampling period are accumulated to a sum value composed of 2n+m digits and the square root comprising n+k digits of the sum is taken. This value is rescaled to a true root mean square value by performing k left shifts as an accurate measurement result. The core of such device is represented by a microcomputer with built-in analog-to-digital converter.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a rotary gas compressor for liquids which includes an impeller housing, an impeller rotatably mounted in the housing, a housing cover, a control disc arranged between the housing and the cover, and a suction intake and pressure outlet provided on the housing cover. Within the housing cover suction and pressure chambers are defined by a separating web arranged between the cover and the control disc. Into the suction chamber opens the suction intake provided on the housing cover; a suction slot provided in the control disc then provides communication with the impeller. The pressure outlet connection communicates with the pressure chamber, and a pressure slot provided in the control disc then also communicates with the impeller. One or more additional pressure apertures are arranged in the control disc adjacent to the pressure slot, and resilient valve tongues cover all of the additional apertures, except for one aperture to which a pressure pipe is connected.

    Abstract: A movable contact arm assembly is provided for a circuit breaker. The contact assembly includes a carrier which has first and second guide plates with aligned roller guides and bracket supports and a roller which has a middle portion extending between the guide plates and the end portions and engaging the roller guides. A bracket extends between the guide plates and engages the bracket supports. A spring is positioned between the bracket and roller which urges the roller along the roller guide. The contact arm has first and second cam surfaces and is positioned between the guide plates and pivotally connected thereto. The roller rides in the guide on the first and second cam surfaces and the roller moves from the first cam surface to the second cam surface as the contact arm moves from a closed position to an open position in response to preselected electromagnetic repulsion forces.

    Abstract: A flexibly damped shaft bearing arrangement with a bearing housing that surrounds the shaft in a ring, and a movable bearing support, which contains the shaft bearing and is suspended radially by springs in the bearing housing, contains a fluid pressure cushion between the bearing housing and the bearing support for damping purposes. In order to be able to adapt this shaft bearing arrangement for electrical machines in various states or stages of operation, there is provided, according to the invention, between the bearing housing and the bearing support, an second stage elastic suspension, which, when the machine equipped with such bearings is not operating, has a clearance with respect to the bearing support, which is smaller than the potential spring excursion of the bearing support. The clearance and the rigidity of the second stage suspension are designed to be adjusted or exchanged.

    Abstract: For an internal combustion engine, such as a motor vehicle engine, operating on the principle of "flywheel utilization" an electromagnetic unit can be used both as a starter motor and as a generator.     Abstract: The invention relates to a heat exchanger for an electronics cabinet with a folded surface profile in which, alternatingly on both faces every other fold is closed off gastight or dustproof by a cross cover. With such an air/air heat exchanger the waste heat from the interior of an electronics cabinet can be dissipated to the outside when the electronics cabinet is closed dusttight. To facilitate production of the folded surface profile, the cross covers are integrally formed onto the folds. Such a folded surface profile, in which the folds and the cross covers form one integral component, is preferably produced as a deepdrawn part, so it is possible to make the component from plastic. In another embodiment, the folded surface profile can be a plastic injection molding.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a system for the continuous lubrication of a rolling bearing. The rolling bearing is arranged in a bearing bore provided at a bearing bracket. The lubrication system comprises a reservoir containing a supply of lubricating oil, from which at least one wick leads to the bearing, the lubricating oil being suppliable to the bearing by the wick. To obtain as long as possible a continued lubrication period with as small as possible a supply of lubricating oil, one or more oilproof cavities are provided as lubricating oil reservoir in a separate bearing cover attachable to the bearing bracket. Such a bearing cover can be postfitted in machines to increase the period of continued lubrication.
